Important concepts to learn to understand the nature of reality

Ive been getting a bit more curious about this recently. What concepts do you think are important to learn about when trying to understand the nature of our reality. Some things I know a little bit about is how everything is a vibrational illusion, nothing is solid. Cymatics, dr emotos study on water etc. Our own personal vibration. Mathematics in nature like the golden ratio. Brain waves and how TV affects it for brain washing. Out of body experiences and government programs. Paranormal entities and aliens. A little bit about symbolism. Karma. Life after death, going to the light, divine realm with a creator (one consciousness etc). Is there anything else to add? And how do people come to realise we are all aspects of a one consciousness. I’ve never done drugs so primarily had a 5 sense 3d reality my whole life and I’m struggling to understand how people figure out that concept, not that I deny it.

One way to explore the nature of reality is to explore within your own mind.  Like what makes you operate the way you do?

I picked up this book by Ivo Dominguez Jr. called Keys to Perception: A Practical Guide to Psychic Development.

I’m not down with all the exercises in the book, and the title is a little silly, but...

When you get past the regular meditations, the ones that involve simply observing thoughts and letting them pass you by, the author claims you can begin to slow your thoughts down.  Once you have slowed them, you can examine how they arise.

For instance:  I noticed my thoughts occur kind of like a slideshow.  One after the other, and I can flip through them at will.
But when I have a (schizophrenic or intrusive?) thought I notice that I cannot flip through that.  I cannot change the slide and the thought/presence persists independent of my control.

So what causes the intrusive thought and how can you overcome them? After watching inception it made me wonder, where do thoughts come from haha

Haven’t found the definite source of that nor how to overcome it.  I have a theory though.
It could be what is called “the trickster.”

I’ve done a fair share of drugs and still haven’t encountered the one consciousness thing.

So there’s everything, like the Hindu God Shiva.  One prayer to Shiva begins like this:

“O mighty Shiva, worlds are indeed indebted to you.
So also gods and demons and all life in the universe.
Even Brahma the creator and Vishnu the preserver.”

So when I think about or meditate on God who encompasses all; both good and evil and just everything everywhere, that is the closest I can get.
Though I am a part of the whole, I still feel separate from the divine.

The Upanishads states that only the enlightened can see true reality.  The rest of us can only catch glimpses from time to time.  To relinquish all desire is the key.  I tend to agree.

There's a story I  learnt years ago about 'feeding the tiger'. The more attention and energy I pay to 'bad or intrusive ' thoughts the more they grew and took charge. I've learnt not to flick through them or analyse them (feed them) but to ignore them   throw them away , starve them. It takes a little effort at first but after a time they disappear. Never entirely but they no longer have the traction they once did.

There's nothing better imo than meditating to expand awareness and I usually use binaural beats through headphones to aid the process.

If you are feeling unsettled and ungrounded imagine roots growing from your feet down to the earths core. You'll actually feel your feet heat up :-) always visualise a protective shell around you too.

Yes, like the Native American story.  You have two wolves inside of you, one good, the other bad. The one you become is the one you feed.

Try hemisync Deep 10.  It's a CD that contains a guided deep relaxation program to relieve tension, anxiety and stress.  It will take you so deep into a state of relaxation that you might actually leave your body.

I saw what seemed like a galloping black wispy dog once. It ran right up my bedroom wall and out through the ceiling. Where it's paws should have been were wisps of smoke and it had no neck and a flat face. I'd not long given birth and hormones were all over the place..

Leading You Into A Culdesac

I was watching this old movie called The Men Who Stare At Goats.  It's a whacky comedy about a fabled US army psychic division full of new age hippies who never quite make anything work.  The way the plot works is that every now and again one of the psychic people brags about some power but as we see it's all nonsense; one of them says he has channelled directions and steers the car to the right and a few moments later it his a landmine and blows up; another focusses really hard on a wall and tries to run straight through it only to get a bad headache.  And at the end they play Boston and ride off into the sunset.

So ... the effect of this kind of movie is that if you have any inclination that there is something "out there" you will "realise" that it's all nonsense and go home feeling relieved that there isn't anything else to find, and you can listen to Boston all the way home to your ordinary life.

It leads any stray whiskers of intuition straight into a culdesac and gives you a habitual payoff.

Then you can die happily feeling relieved that do die without a fight is normal because there wasn't anything else anyway.

And this is how the evil works on this planet.  It is cunning and ancient and unless you are particularly troubled or a vicious bastard or a saint, you aren't going to find anything.

Almost all the sages and saints of this world had something quite violent inside them, something volcanic, something that would not go easily, they had something and they used the force of that something to break through.

We are surrounded by a cloud of death and a force that actively breaks our will .. it saps our strength ... it takes our efforts and turns it against us.

It attacks us where we are weak, it deceives us.

And it is a test to see if we are ready.

Oh Yeah You're Already Great Let's Party

This is another kind of culdesac that is popular these days, people saying oh yeah you're already just great and the everlasting whatnot.

... so ... no need to look anywhere.

- It's pretty cunning, isn't it.

After all we're all life aren't we?
Yes ... yes sort of ... in the sense that when you go to sleep someone in China wakes up ... yes we are all life.

> Only problem is it ain't you living it.

And if you are not there then you are dead and it doesn't matter what "it's all life" is doing or not doing.

It only matters if you are there.

The ruler of this world has a job to do, to stop anyone who doesn't really want it from leaving.

And he does his job well.

This is the nature of this reality.

If you are ever interested in any sage or saint, I recommend reading about his life, what choices he made - often it tells you more about the journey then any book or poetry they said.

Thinking

You are able to think actively ... for instance you can count in your head or you can think carefully about your accounts.

When you do this the machinery of thinking is owned by you, you embody it, you stand inside it and you think actively.

But if you let your thinking drift then it starts to drift into the subconscious collective matrix picking up all sorts of garbage that other people are thinking and it sounds more like the TV.

So please notice the two types of thinking.

Human beings were once a purely collective species with no personally owned thinking ... to personally own thinking is to personally own yourself.

It is to reach escape velocity and peel off from the collective heard.

Thinking is actually a kind of function of your intelligence, what you actually should own is the thinker, you should become the thinker.

Meaning that you are seated as the thinker in your forehead ... you wake up inside there ... that's why Hindus place  a red dot on the forehead, x marks the spot of the thinker.

If you don't then the thinker is absent or uncrystalized ... it is more of a potential that isn't activated, and if then like most humans you drift with many thoughts floating around.

The internet and TV is like a way for humans to continue being collective but using external technology.

However they are already collective.

I’ve just thought as well the importance of the brain, pineal gland and mind. It’s clear there’s a war against the mind through neurotoxins in vaccines and chemtrails, fluoride, gmos, artificial sweeteners and emf radiation. Why all this effort to suppress the mind? Because it is awakening in people and the satanic elite are desperate to stop it

The only thing that can't be taken from you is self-recognition.

If you think or  perceive in a normal way it is subject object:

me perceiving --------> tomato (object)
me thinking about ----------> brooke shields (object)

For human beings the object is the only thing that is registered.  When I think about tomatoes I just don't sense anything else.  I am so lost in Brooke Shield's eyes that there is nothing else in the world.

However this means you lose yourself.
In fact you never had yourself ... to "have" yourself means you have developed the faculty or self-recognition which is not native to humans, but is possible.

An awakened being does this :

me (subject recognized and held) -------> tomato (object)

The capacity has been developed to sense and maintain recognition (or self 'tasting') whilst experiencing objects.

You then have the ability to do this :

me (subject recognized)

At this point you no longer need the external world of objects to exist ... for you to exist.  Your existence is independent of the outside.

The self-recognition self-tasting is learned through the spiritual practices.

One way to do it is for instance stare at the wall and observe yourself staring at the wall then simply try to "sense" inwardly the one who is watching the wall.

It is a very tiny little inner change when you sense (me watching) and the wall at the same time.
It's very small change, like something has noticed something new inside ... it notices me.

Then you try to very very gently just keep the tiny fire of self-recognition going, very gently.

Eventually that fire is lit and never goes out.

How can the nature of reality be found through examining concepts like in a classroom setting anyway?  Especially when there’s no teacher.  Seems like an exercise in what reality is not rather than what it is.

Then there’s parlor tricks.  Hold a feather up to your third eye and you may get sucked up into the sky, even go where you want.  Cool, but without being of service what’s the point?

Are all thought intrusions, auditory, visual, and other “hallucinations” to be ignored?  Are they all demons?  TV fuzz?  They’re there for a reason, maybe to be faced.  Who’s to say?

My knowledge of ancient initiation rituals is embarrassingly crude and distorted, but they seem to have involved going into a cave, maybe taking potent hallucinogens, and undergoing a terrifying death and rebirth experience.  Only afterward is the nature of reality revealed to the initiate.

Or finding the nature of reality may involve having what people call a nervous breakdown or going full on psychotic.

My shoe broke and I fell down one Spring day in the year 2000.  That kicked off a full blown 3 day, very intense psychotic episode.  Maybe I fell into a vortex.  Who knows, it was Arizona.

The real reality may have been revealed while I was completely wallpaper licking manic!  At the time I didn’t understand what I was experiencing and couldn’t handle the sinister aspects of the experience.

Without medical intervention or pharmaceuticals, it took 6 months for the residuals of those three days to fully subside.

I went full on materialist from then on.  A week of exclusively handling business and household matters leaves me extremely anxious though.

A part of me wants another crack at being nuts, what was for me a first hand peek behind the veil.

Having to be normal and function “normally” doesn’t seem conducive to finding the nature of reality.  It’s not a safe endeavor and could even be torturous to some.

On the other hand, “normal” seems to be crumbling all around us, isn’t it?

"Life is only real, then, when I am" - Gurdjieff.

Concepts can point towards truth or reality, but they are not reality. As Alan Watts used to say, the menu is not the meal!

I would start with the question, "what is it that is aware of my experience", and see what journey this leads you too.

No Seth is not law of attraction.

L.s.d shows you the great game. It allows the energy lines that connect everything to be visible. It takes you to hell and back, till you know surely in the darkest moment only you can get you back from the awful knowing that just outside of reality lies salvation or hell.

Each place is waiting for new occupants.

It taught me there are 8 levels of perception.

It taught me when all else is lost to remember the 8 steps

 to climb back to safety.

I took acid in Thailand for about 3 years, with Acid Eric, who is now sadly dead. He told tales of Mountain Girl and Kool aid parties.American bands, life in Goa in the swinging 60,s. Many days of acid tests for me ,till I really thought I knew acid, thought I would be immune to the bad trip

.I was,nt.

I can say it was the most scary night to date, but it taught me the 8 levels,it taught me to respect how powerful lsd is.

I wonder did anyone here ever meet Acid Eric ?

I saw him last in London. He was going to the stones concert .Eric knew everyone. I heard he had died,he must of been at least 70 when I first met him.
