I've basically given up on society. The multitudes of braindead zombified morons is worse than anything I could have ever imagined. I mean I knew it was bad, but this is next level shit. A complete waste of time and energy interacting with anyone these days. However, if someone specially comes to me and genuinely wants to learn more on all this crap, I will give my heart and soul to help them out with good info and research material. But only now by request. Im fkn DONE with wasting all my time with these braindead dicks. I can't even think of anything adequate to describe them. Just the most patehtic excuses for citizens you could comprehend.

That’s good that you’ve stood your ground and it’s paid off. Also, totally agree about not wasting time and energy giving your opinion or debating with fkin idiots. I had a massive lecture from someone at work when I vaguely mentioned that me and my family don’t have/ won’t have vaccines. She’s been a right c*** to me since as well. So it does make you realise you have to choose your audience, or specifically not converse with work people about any of it. Which is annoying cos it seems like you’re being cowardly but it’s just not worth it 9 times out of 10. People are so disappointing. Especially the ones you really get on with any think you have stuff in common with !!!!! 🙄

It's mass hypnosis. Like everyone is in some kind of gigantic deep trance state. And they can't be snapped out of it. I just accept, they are completely gone.

I haven't watched the full WHO press conference but, according to this article, the WHO are now saying that there is no scientific medical reason for any healthy person to wear a mask outside of a hospital.

https://principia-scientific.com/who-you-do-not-need-to-wear-a-mask/

WHO: You Do NOT Need to Wear a Mask

Furthermore, last month, the WHO had also claimed that masks are only of limited value in conjunction with other measures. Dr Joseph Mercola analysed WHO's advice and pointed out that:

Quote

“….the literature rather strongly suggests the usefulness of masks depends on a significant number of factors — type, fit, length of use, purpose and circumstances — which are effectively impossible to account for in public universal-masking policies.

The science, contrary to the ignorant platitudes we are bombarded with, has NOT proven that universal masking is effective for viral containment, and has instead provided substantial grounds for skepticism of such a policy.”

I have finally found the time to watch the 22nd January 2021 press conference too and comment about it. The opinion from John O'Sullivan, who wrote the piece I posted, appears to be based on the Q&A from 44 minutes into the press conference but also within the context of the WHO guidance on face masks published on 1st December 2020.

The press conference can be watched here: https://www.who.int/emergencies/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019

A journalist asks about the use of FB2 masks which have now been made mandatory in Austria and parts of Germany on public transport and in shops. These regions have apparently decided that regular masks are not safe enough. The journalist also asks if there is any evidence that regular fabric masks are less efficient to prevent new variants and if the mask guidelines will be reviewed.

The answer from the WHO stresses that masks alone are not effective and should be used in combination with other methods. This is also what the updated WHO guidance dated 1st December 2020 on masks repeatedly states.

https://apps.who.int/iris/bitstream/handle/10665/337199/WHO-2019-nCov-IPC_Masks-2020.5-eng.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y

The WHO also have no intention of changing the guidance any further right now. The recommendations currently include 3 layer masks but this comes with shortages. The guidance is very wishy-washy on the effectiveness of masks in the community outside of health care settings and even says evidence of protective efficacy is “very limited” (page 8).

Whereas there appears to be a longer list of potential harms from mask use as oppose to the “very limited” evidence of benefits (page 10):

Perhaps the headline is a little sensationalised and makes a bit of a leap in declaring the WHO has said people do not need to wear masks. But I do think it is implicit on the WHO's response, and also in their guidance, that the regular fabric masks that most people are wearing are not effective.

I see this story has mysteriously appeared in the Mail and the Mirror today

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9202691/SAGE-urges-No10-make-face-masks-compulsory-outdoors.html

Strange, as even this article says the SAGE report was from Jan 13 and there's evidence online that it was from as far back as late December. It looks like another of those 'test the water' shenanigans they throw out to judge the mood (a mood that they are well aware is increasingly resistant). Whatever, I expect the purpose may be for a Downing St Community Theatre performance in the near future announcing something along the lines of 'non-essential shops can re-open on the condition you all wear masks outside'.

Lockdown Sceptics have covered the quiet release by SAGE of a document prepared by a sub-committee on the 'Application of physical distancing and fabric face covering in mitigating the B117 variant SARS-CoV-2 virus in public, workplace and community settings'. See the following heading:

SAGE Admits Masks Do Little to Help

https://lockdownsceptics.org/

The document can be found via the links below. It was released on the 13th January 2021 and not 13th January 2020 as per the document title.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/emg-application-of-physical-distancing-and-fabric-face-coverings-in-mitigating-the-b117-variant-sars-cov-2-virus-in-public-workplace-and-community

https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/957010/s1029-emg-face-coverings-distancing.pdf

According to an Independent Researcher who has analysed the document, SAGE essentially admit that face masks offer little benefit.

Quote

SAGE released a document in January prepared by a sub-committee, which it endorsed, saying that masks were primarily a source control (cloth and surgical masks are thought to offer the wearer little protection) and citing an estimate for their typical impact on transmission of 6-15% (possibly as high as 45%).

That document says in relation to source control: “Analysis of regional level data in several countries suggest this impact is typically around 6 – 15% (Cowling and Leung, 2020, Public Health England 2021) but could be as high as 45% (Mitze et al., 2020).”

A 6 – 15% reduction seems to be a lot lower than NERVTAG, SAGE and the Government have previously suggested – barely relevant. Moreover, the Cowling & Leung paper says: “While most research on face masks has involved surgical type face masks, it should be presumed that reusable cloth masks could provide similar benefits if they have a sufficient number of layers and preferably a filter.”  So the 6 – 15% estimate seems to be for surgical masks. Cloth masks in reality usually have few layers (maybe only one) and no filter. So their effect is likely smaller still.

The Cowling & Leung paper is here. It is an editorial not a research paper in its own right.

The 6 – 15% estimate actually comes from a December 2020 review paper by Brainard et al.

They say: “Conclusion: Wearing face masks may reduce primary respiratory infection risk, probably by 6-15%. It is important to balance evidence from RCTs and observational studies when their conclusions widely differ and both are at risk of significant bias. COVID-19-specific studies are required.”  They also say “The environmental and economic costs of regularly using face masks are notable, and only partly abated by reuse.”

Not exactly strong support for wearing masks!

I'm dead against wearing masks but in some places, it is mandatory (gov buildings hospital, etc) so I ordered one that says: "What a scam".

It's the first time I pay for a rag, $10 so I may as well make it count.

If we have to wear the darn rag, we may as well make a statement.

This guy painted a mask on his face and went shopping. Rather than anybody stopping him, security instead wanted to take his picture.

That nearly looks as silly as this.....
