Freedom Network you refer to is probably the same which Macnamara posted a thread about... (I am interested in that too) ... soooo....if the same project, I assume you mean that Paul 1916. and btw:-Turns out RobinJ seems first to have started a thread about Freedom Network also... Also I know one of the members here, other than Mac -- (which I could ask about letting you know who that is with their permission) who is trying to support practically the self sustaining models or structures (communities essentially) of small businesses of what you might also call the Parallel Economy.... Just as I believe Mac (another member) was doing on that subject too...So to give his full name= Macnamara also, as it happens has a thread about that specific topic I believe.... Or else those kinds of info's can be found in Mac's self started thread of "Its a Pirates Life for Me thread"....(and probably other threads) but Pirate Life (Sts) is where he talks and gets ideas about the Parallel Economy in there if you want to dive into that! Thanks for your thoughts Paul 1916, and here I just found today another thread on such matters from May of 2021.... (with no contributing posts in his particular thread_ yet!!?) there is also the FreedomCell Network which is growing worldwide. I am involved in that here with the founders. freedomcells.org You can make your own cell or join others

TetraG
Rebooting this great and surprisingly short thread (in this case)..... I've looked thru all 14 columns of topics in Health & Medical and can't find wherever the other similar topic is I remember from way back (no, not on the old forum) equally about keeping mental health in check.... Must be somewhere in another section. NOOOO not a sectioned section, haha. Everyone here KNOWS their own mind enough I would think not to be lulled or coerced into some facility or institution I hope. (can't imagine anyone here being a fan of any -so called- "mental institution", I'm certainly NOT..........and even--> as if needing to proove the point--> we had a thread here recently that highlighted abuse on the vulnerable where it surfaces in such a facility, [or faculty, US speak?] it makes the vulnerable, guess what- "vulnerable", tada! in large part owing to how poorly they are treated, run down, fettered, isolated - etc!... Frankly I didn't wanna read it, but someone has to, and well, I can guess the kinda thing which goes on suffice to say!....) Back to Our Own M H.... Anyway, in whichever groove-jet (or understandably doom-laiden when life is tough or just depressing) thread we post in is fine as long as it's aiding better relative mental comfort, so for time being this thread HERE is very good also, so thankyou to all posters that help make coping as identifiable as you all can by helping how the inexplicable sometimes, can afterall in some cases be got the grasp of in words if we say things plainly enough (despite how complicated stuff can get in our heads to the contrary) .... Plus, always something to encourage more of are empathetic ways of really getting to know people as people rather than mere objects in space, like strangers who could just as easily be aliens where we just don't know any better!. . . . .and YES, throughout mental unease that gives experience to us it can unleash and can offer leverage (as in a wake-up call sometimes) of giving rise to even epiphany level of understanding on life and well, making the best of it plainly speaking.. TetraG
Just to put forth again -> How has everyone's mental health been today? / this week? My experience atm (somewhat effecting my M H), invites me to ascribe my time lately getting ready to "bite hard on authority week".. BUT *in a smart way*,,, of fairly routine mish mash with authority, but with M H heeded as I do so hopefully coming out of my gripe with better respect from authority assholes to come as a result of complaining in some quite confrontational but non-violent way, (nothing conspiracy related, just personal stuff in the main where I see authority figures get too self confident and they will see from this being taken down a peg or two in my locality soon, hahaha, fun or just business? you decide....yes I am being vague for privacy reasons but no harm shall come in my actions - but psychological aggression I don't put up with, enough said) Isn't life great anyone? You will meet a lot of like minded people. An hour or two every other day has really worked wonders for me. I have also bought a lot of physical books, regularly meditate and also star gaze (weather permitting) This, prayer and trying to keep in atleast weekly touch with loved ones who may have gotten distant due to the rat race. Also have a punching bag for rainy days where the bike would have gotten mucky. Sometimes it's hard to self motivate though and will go on a movie binge with junk food when can't be arsed with anything. Usually happens when I have a disagreement with the Mrs and we stop talking to each other. It all balances out in the end though.
JONJAY79
Creatine monohydrate is excellent for building lean muscles but also very good for heart health and eye health. Creatine is also good for depression, dementia, learning difficulties, brain injuries, moto skills, Vitamin B3 is excellent for schizophrenia, biplor and other mental health issues. Dr Abraham Hoffer treated thousands of people with schizophrenia with fantastic results. Vitamin B1 successfully treated many with brain fog and chronic fatigue works great with Vitamin B3 and Creatine. truther79
One of the best things I try and do is to be out in nature... I'm fortunate to live in a beautiful part of the country, but pretty much everywhere in the UK has nature round the corner to offer a sanctuary from the madness. I've taken up watercolour painting like my mother did too. A simple pocket set of paints and a small pad of paper gives you the chance to create something nice in peace and helps take your mind off things going on. Hope everyone is coping okay...if not, drop me a line and maybe talking things through will help. We need to stick together.

Certified Green of Heart
Joy is expansive, but Joy can also lead to over-engrandizement like a "mania" as wise/balanced teddy bear said, except I added "over-engrandizement".... We can replace that negative over-hyped indulgence and urge it into becoming enlightenment....personal space contentment, peace/ wonder.... ForBEARance to the negative where necessary but where negative does not dominate. When it does, raise the rent and kick it out out and out!!!! Let's walk hand in hand teddy bears.... Let's be sad and happy,

Certified Green of Heart
A way of fixing up in positive light, for anyone feeling in the dark over their life, and finding things are obscured in their minds eye because of it.... Be it oppression, depression, low self esteem, lack of discipline or lack of commitment, lack of human contact etc.....As Shi is like saying, it needs a little something from you, but for anyone seeing from outside but knows that place, where you felt dark and enclosed, and that once they looking and seeing how you be this way were once that way too.....So when you have had enough of your dark cell or embittered or disillusioned life, to get out of that, that treadmill of suffering or whatever where you have fallen too deep, it can mean YOU can need something from others sometimes too, sometimes, just to know somebody has been in a similar place at one time.... And maybe now you are willing to bring yourself out of the dark, and say yes, you would like a teacher or a friend, to help you fix up to become a more rounded human being,, let's take a look... Be Aware & Clear, and break free of your 4 walls, remember what life truly is and how all is a possibility but when your mind is clouded or intoxicated, of course you do not sense it nearly so well!... Soooo Don't become numb, and inactive, that your body and your mind closes down. It may not be how you envisioned being nor even your fault, but the help is in making the first steps out of dark place to waken and not be sleeping so much.... To be willing to try, and see what others get reminded of in you that is giving or them onto you about being HUMAN in an age where it is too easy to become screen addict or drug addict instead!... The way out is not always a Shaolin way, as it is not always suitable for everybody, but Master Shi Heng Yi, I have watched enough videos of to be able to say, he speaks plainly and in truth.... You don't have to become a Monk or a Master.... Also, as I mention just now your help doesn't have to come from Shaolin. Master Shi says the same... For example.... Let go of any concepts no longer helping you, or that are doing more harm than good, if the rat-race anti human society is overwhelming you!!....And realize even without a specific type of teacher (although we could all use one like Master Shi!!) ... even without maybe having found a guide of some sort, sometimes it can still be okay and suffice and be more suitable for others to have connection with slightly more ordinary people,,, those that you meet by perhaps going a little outside of your usual circumference of day to day habitation, and you never know, from therein whatever your interests, those others too could at one stage or another secretly be thinking the same as you did that hope seemed then or seems now to be remote, however your downfall, or sadness effected you.... But That Now.... a more natural life needs to be embraced. A more simple life.... So okay, now it seems not so hard, and it is so for those in a dark place. Don't feel daunted, just take small steps and make a daily or weekly commitment to something different from what you would normally do to bring out the light and better health for your mind and your body! Best, CGofH. Edited January 10 by Certified Green of Heart
RobinJ
In short, people can choose their mindset. Folks tend to lock themselves inside their own prisons, with the key inside their own pocket, and then blame others or anything else for not being able to leave. Its ALL a choice and we can all choose freedom.

And how much of our trauma and mental illness is caused by living in a sick society. Stressed and overworked parents, declining community, hyper-individualism, empty consumerism, lack of contact with nature, toxins everywhere. Yet we are still expected to treat ourselves as separate individuals instead of treating society. Could be why mental illness continues to rise despite all the new treatments.
