greatdayforfreedom
We are seeing the annihilation of all non-pc comedy. Are black people offended by black jokes? Do they want to see Little Britain deleted from Netflix? I don't recall black people demanding this to happen.

Supposedly inspired by Kurosawa's 'Hidden Fortress.' Maybe so but Lucas doesn't hold a candle to the master. He asked Toshiro Mifune to play Obi Wan but he refused saying the role debased the Samurai ethic. He was quite right. Alec Guinness ended up hating the role even though it made him a lot of money. I need to track down that 'Kurosawa and the Censors' first, that sounds very interesting.

hokuspokus
If I am repeating something that has already been posted then I apologize in advance . Anywho. Is this cancelling of old shows/films etc a 2020 version of the 1930s book burning ?

If enough people stopped paying money to them, they might think twice about being self-appointed arbiters of what we can and cannot watch. Many people like Netflix for the convenience it offers at a very reasonable cost, but I have never been keen on the idea of it, as anything on the internet can be removed or alterted at a whim and it is always dependent on the web working. I prefer to have physical media off the grid be it films or books and there is no data leakage of when or what I am reading or watching.

And BTW when you see all that film of National Socialists burning books etc. in Germany in the thirties - you do know that was pornography they were burning don't you? I have many films on DVD but not RAN which I've only seen once. Ran is brilliant. Kurosawa transposing King Lear to medieval Japan. Kurosawa loved to adopt Western and Russian literature. Throne of Blood was Macbeth, The Lower Depths was based on Gorky and The Idiot a Japanese adaptation of Dostoevsky' novel. I must have seen all of Kurasawa's works. Most you can get on DVD, even the wartime stuff. . Seven Samurai is, of course, the benchmark for all other samurai movies. It is a very intense and moving film. I saw it on the big screen in Kyoto when I was there (with subtitles too) and it really is spectacular. There was an art house place that showed old chambara films regularly and I was a frequent visitor there with my Japanese friends. They had the odd marathon too (Sleepy Eyes of Death, Zatoichi) but they showed a lot of Kurasawa's old flicks like Drunken Angel, Stray Dog, and Ikiru. They showed the works of Masaki Kobayashi (Kwaidan, Hara-Kiri, Inn of Evil), and the brilliant Samurai Revolution trilogy by Eiichi Kudo 13 Assassins etc.). jupiter12
It's like the billionaire control freak bloodline Illuminati Satanic brigade are attempting to remove any form of humour from reality ,,! Humour no longer allowed ,, Why! Because humor is on a higher vibration than misery and negativity ,, They want a world controlled by fear and low vibe energy ,, war ,, disease ,, poverty ,, violence ,, Those in control do not want any form of positive energy contaminating their low vibe control system ,, which controls everyone irrelevant of color ,, race ,, gender ,, or sexuality , Divide and rule ,, so easy ,, make humor the vehicle to enforce control ,, No one laugh ,, no one have an opinion ,, obey ,, comply ,, I can't post pics anymore ,, no doubt because of all the forum hacking stuff recently ,, a demonstration that those in control do not want free thinking people with a sense of humor. 2020member
It’s all about purging content. No we’re not going to forget these great shows, but it’ll become more and more distant the less out of reach said content becomes. When the next generation comes along (who will be taught in school from day 1 no one is allowed a culture). They won’t have any interest at looking and grandads archives of RACIST little britain etc. This is just another huge step towards cultural erosion. Divide and conquer as clear as day. Utterly pathetic....

Based on the 1953 novel of the same name by Ray Bradbury, the film takes place in a controlled society in an oppressive future in which the government sends out firemen to destroy all literature to prevent revolution and thinking. hokuspokus
......because if you burn the books and destroy\change history then slavery will be forever known as a white man's sin and no one will ever know that Colston et al bought their slaves from black African slave traders . Slavery was and still is despicable but the black community need to have a long hard look in the mirror as well.

A horrible and self centred Narcissist, but, he has his bad points too! A lot of people that make it big in showbusiness have to adopt a character on screen that is more endearing and relatable so that the general public supports them. The reality is is that they live in a v affluent areas and deliberately distance themselves from working class (immigrant and white) communities. Also their children will walk into jobs and opportunities that are created for them. This applies to public figures that are originally from fairly humble backgrounds. On a deeper level it prob has to do with power/greed and human nature plus becoming surrounded by people that in turn influence how one behaves. My issue is that these celebrities portray themselves as voices of the public but in their private lives are completely different! You just have to know where in London to go and who to talk to and you will get where I am coming from.

I have MANY black friends on Twitter, as well as some who I know personally (including my black girlfriend). Only one of them was happy about it (and only because of recent manipulations getting to him), all the rest were pretty upset by it. The majority of black people know that Little Britain mocked everyone! I never personally found the show funny, but I don't believe it was racist at all. It's all smoke and mirrors and all to further the agenda, the narrative that's been pushed down our throats. And I don't think it's really about destroying our culture (I mean, yes, that is a part of it, but only a small part), it's mostly about fueling the division. They want white people to feel afraid and threatened. They want us to get angry and blame all black people. Even my grandmother fell for it the other day, remarking that "they were going too far now and she wanted them to leave if they weren't happy". And that's what it's all about. It's all about feeding the divisions on both sides. It's exhausting and upsetting when you can see the truth when so few can. I am just fighting tooth and nail to try and wake other people up, and keep those people who are close to me in the loop of what's really happening. Even if I don't succeed all the time, at least I'm getting the truth out there and planting the seed of truth within their minds.
