How about having equal status on the leaderboard of ‘likes’ and ‘thanks’ and having an ‘unlike’ icon for shills and thread disruptors which takes off a point, thereby discouraging that behaviour. Also an increase in reaction allocations would be most welcome.

Something which I would like to know from the members ....

What do you expect from the moderators?

What do you think that they should do?

Please remember that their first duty is to protect the forum .... so that it continues!

How about private rooms / threads by invite of OP only ?

Isnt that a bit elitist?

The ‘popular’ crowd do their own thing in private; the flat earthers do their own thing in private etc etc.

Cant you do your private ‘thing’ through pms; or your own email?

Humans being what we are, it could cause resentment or whatever; aren’t we all in this together; and if you dont agree with someone’s opinion - or abuse lol, just ignore them?

Not having a go, just musing really; personally I don’t care; and if I was ever ‘chosen’ to go in a ‘private room’, I would decline - with thanks ?

Is it true you've abdicated in favour of Joseph? :classic_unsure:

Just to be helpful, fair, and impartial.

Imo, the mods were doing a good job anyway; a lot of the time I wouldn’t know who was a shill or whatever; but the mods seemed to get it right.

There are already group PMs, but there not as easy to navigate and use as a normal thread.

Whats wrong with a private room / thread.

When l invite people to my home to interact with l don't leave the door open for anyone to wander in.
lf l want to socialise freely, l go out to public venues and mix..

Didnt say there was anything wrong at all.  It was just my opinion ?

To keep doing what they're already doing.
One is not enough.
Two isn't either, really. (if / when Muir returns)
Be a -part time Mod again, ink.

I absolutely agree with you on this! I too think we are like a community of people more or less on the same wavelength and here we can communicate our thoughts on all these current subjects to the others. I find it so reassuring not to have to battle against the opposite camp for once and can simply share ideas and information I find out there and read what others have found and brought here. I thought this forum was already our private space.

Protect the forum

Appear in some form when shit Storm starts so we know 'awareness' is there

Perhaps when a flag on thread  is dropped whether later validated or not a 'watch' alert is flagged. Got to be SO careful with censorship so fully understand how difficult this is.

Love it when a mod drops in with a joke from time to time.

Also when things get REALLY  serious (truecunt).  The mod notes makes a huge impact. Probably more than you realise.

One obvious and recent example was (quietly) trying to arrange the latest London meet up.
PMs are a pain to follow / read / navigate when there's lots of people on it.
Somewhere private to discuss whatever you want in a thread instead of a PM isn't a huge change......just easier.

Yes.

Though even here you get the odd one or two having a go at others who disagree with their way of thinking; that’s just the way humans roll a lot of the time lol.

These days I just don’t engage with them; got better things to do ?

(Must be getting old; used to bite back sometimes, but really no point; people will believe what they choose, and that’s fine?)

Can I have a grammar thread? Where only I am allowed to play and where I can quietly be a grammar Nazi ?

Suspect answer here is *NO*

I'd spend hours quietly correcting everyone's posts and end up like Gollum in his cave with his ring.

Honestly - you'd all be better for it
