The area is only the size a little larger than a lap top and same shape. I wonder what they are planting!!!! I've found they have have dug individual small holes with rubber spirals over them for about a mile long, along a country road, at first I thought it was street lighting they were putting up, but now I'm not so sure?? Itsjaybigjay Posted May 27, 2020 Share Posted May 27, 2020 any chance of some pics? are they all close to some street furniture? doubt its fiber as that needs long shallow trenches to be cut about 6 inch deep. they did out village last year with it. but small patches at junctions is something odd. Also workmen in BT boxes daily not bt vans though, so often its very busy like they have a rush on. I go past other villages daily its the same and got my attention about 5 weeks ago. Ah yea the forum is still having major issues, maybe pics then its sorted. What aria of the country are you in? I live in the north west not for from Manchester, I've noticed quite a few BT vans about and personnel in boxes but not to the extent you describe and no workers digging holes at junctions. Grumpy Owl Posted May 28, 2020 Share Posted May 28, 2020 I can only speak for my local area in south Birmingham, but there has been activity for the past few months locally, and I do believe it is due to BT rolling out their fibre broadband network, which isn't currently available in my area, hence why I'm forced to use Virgin for my broadband. As I registered my interest in fibre broadband with BT when I moved here in August 2018, I did receive an email update a few weeks ago to advise me that their engineers would be carrying out surveys and 'preliminary works' in order to prepare for fibre cable installation over the next few weeks along my street. This email came at the time when there was stuff going on with 5G masts being 'attacked' and staff being 'harassed', so notably it did advise that people could say 'hello' to their 'friendly engineers' and ask any questions they might have. I've also noticed a number of gas and other utility works being carried out around other local areas. If anything, this has been an ideal time to do so, while there's been less traffic on the roads. Certainly a few weeks ago now, there were temporary traffic lights in Sparkbrook where a big hole had been dug up in the Stratford Road, at any other time this would have caused enormous traffic chaos and delays, but not so this time. While it is important to keep vigilant and keep a watch on what's going on, it is also important to remember that not everything is a 'conspiracy'. Whatever they were installing, it was small and had nothing to do with the bulbs. they didn't even take the glass bulb covers off. Last night, I noticed that it was really dark out and that my street light had not come on. Also, the neighbourhood behind ours had no street lights either. Went out a bit ago to get me mail out of the box and noticed what is going on. Someone, obviously not accepting the 5G being shoved down our throats, has gone around and physically broken off the entire light housing off the top of every pole. They're about 9-10 feet high. I had already been contemplating how I myself would go about doing such a thing, since one of these poles is right in front of our house, but I haven't worked out how to get up that high. Im in a village nr stroud Gloucestershire. Not being worked on by BT though. Vans with nothing on. Could be fibre as now markings in white all over pavements.
