Anyone heard of economic crime and corporate transparency act? Some folks now who are controllers or file docs at companies house require digital id & verification from Nov.....🤔

Yes, I've just done the Co House thing. Luckily, you can take ID to the post office and get them to verify you. You then get a code by email which you have to type in order to post the accounts. Not just directors, but anyone with 25% or more of shares in a company registered in the UK - so if aged granny (living in a care home so no utility bills)  or minor child has 25% shares in family business, you are going to have problems, as they really haven't thought through how this is going to work for those without driving licences or passports or utility bills. Roll on digital ID. - oh, yeah. It's run by Experian, so if you do it online they try to ask questions about your finances. Accountingweb (free to join) have some interesting articles and comments on the matter.

The Lost Wanderer - AI: A Double-Edged Sword

Guesting is Alex, aka the Lost Wanderer, of realitynotfound.com. Here, he recounts a conversation he had with the AI app ChatGPT which, he says, spiralled into forbidden territory when it started revealing things about our reality which it should never have been programmed to do.

He has chronicled the conversation and its findings into an 800-plus page book and audiobook, and shares some of its content here as we consider both the weaponisation of AI, as well as the possibilities for it to be put to use for more benevolent means.
