"First trial on British Army vehicle for high-powered laser weapon"

But how long have they had laser weapons in secret?

"For the first time scientists and engineers have successfully fired a high powered laser energy weapon from a British Army combat vehicle."

"This ground-breaking test, conducted at Dstl’s range in Porton Down, saw the laser weapon neutralise targets at distances in excess of 1km."

Surely, as lasers were first invented in 1960 it can't have taken them this long to develop one as a weapon. Note the caveat "from a British Army combat vehicle" so even if this is true they've probably been used elsewhere.  I can remember seeing lasers used for the Christmas lights in Oxford street in London back in 1978 so they were available outside the lab since at least then.

And with Tesla share price currently up 11.5% today on a market capital of $903 bn we can do the maths to see how well Musk is doing out of Trump's election.

"Recent incidents in the Baltic Sea have raised alarms across Europe. Telecommunications between Finland and Germany were disrupted after the undersea cable C-Lion1, stretching 1,173 kilometers between Helsinki and Rostock, sustained damage. The cable serves as the sole direct communication link between Finland and Central Europe.

Additionally, a second undersea cable connecting Lithuania and Sweden was also damaged."
