"Sadiq Khan gives go-ahead to scrap day travel cards with London commuters to face extra costs."

"The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has announced that he has given the go ahead to scrapping day travel cards for rail commuters. Travellers now face having to pay more money for the journeys in and out of the city as they transfer from National Rail to Transport for London (TfL) services."

"The mayor had previously admitted to MyLondon that the move would be 'unfair'. It means those who travel into London from elsewhere will have to pay for their National Rail fare into the city, and then switch to Oyster or use their contactless card, such as a debit card, to pass through station barriers. But this cost would be capped daily according to the normal zone-based rates."

"Critics say that those who do not have contactless or Oyster, such as the 1.2 million UK adults who don't have bank accounts, would struggle to use the London transport network. The Railfuture group has described the proposals as 'exclusionary.'"

They'll probably eventually ditch the Oyster card too so they can track everyone. As things stand at the moment, I can just use someone elses Oyster to travel in the city, but that won't be possible if they switch to using facial recognition or some other biometrics.

A lot of support in the comments for this crap. Only milquetoast fools that have nothing important to say would think that linking your social

media to a payment system is a good idea. if this doesn't sound like normalizing social credit systems then I don't know what does.

If a virtue is sold as if it were a commodity, then it is no longer a virtue. It is a product, sold by a company, and revokable.

Such is "free speech". If you profit off of the sale, and claim yourself to be anything other than a businessman seeking profits, then you are a lying huckster.

In modern times "values" are simply products bought and sold. "Free speech advocates" are little more than snake oil salesmen. Luring you in with the promise of a satisfying cure to all that ails you, all the while planning to fleece you of your worth.

I am not surprised. I expect the slimiest of tactics. As "noble virtues" are above our enemies. "Hate speech" is anything that may prove to be eye opening. So any would be "dissenter" should prepare to be censored.

Is it any surprise that big tech platforms were originally pretty welcoming to different viewpoints? That was just a lure to reel you in, but once they had a significant userbase, then they started to target dissent.

Video game studios are so scared of A.I. they’re forcing managers to study machine learning and offering employees $7,000 bounties for A.I. ideas

The head of one major Japanese studio is preparing for a future where half his company’s programmers and designers will be unnecessary within five years. At Hong Kong-listed Gala Sports, executives have mothballed non-AI research projects, forced department heads to study machine learning and offered bounties of as much as $7,000 for novel AI ideas. They worry they might already be late.
