Sounds like a soulless dystopian hellscape. Imagine being in the shadow of that monstrosity. Hopefully a vaporware project.

I had a 'polite conversation' about these cameras when I refused to use the self service till because of them in my local co-op recently.

After I explained why the member of staffs counter argument was that it was ok was because 'Tesco have them as well' 😆

Ironically I'm probably now on the database for 'causing trouble'

I'm sure that's a term they use in China lol

A mind-reading combat jet for the future
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62289737

'One feature will be an artificial intelligence (AI) tool to assist the human pilot when they are overwhelmed, or under extreme stress.

Sensors in the pilot's helmet will monitor brain signals and other medical data. So, over successive flights the AI will amass a huge biometric and psychometric information database.

This library of the pilot's unique characteristics means the on-board AI will be able to step-in and assist if the sensors indicate they may need help.'

Nokia boss predicts when we will move away from smartphones, and the arrival of 6G

'Speaking on a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week, Lundmark said that the world is likely to move away from using smartphones, to glasses and other devices before the arrival of 6G.

“The smartphone as we know it today will not anymore be the most common interface,” he said. “Many of these things will be built directly into our bodies.”

Lundmark said that by 2030 there will likely be a “digital twin of everything” that will require enormous computational resources. Networks will need to be at least 100 times or even 1,000 times faster to transmit all the bits that the industrial metaverse will require.

Lundmark said that only 30% of the global economy today is digitalized, and much work is needed to digitise the remaining 70%.

Nokia notes that in the 6G era, the digital, physical, and human world will seamlessly fuse to trigger extrasensory experiences.

“Intelligent knowledge systems will be combined with robust computation capabilities to make humans endlessly more efficient and redefine how we live, work and take care of the planet. Even though there is still a lot of innovation in 5G with the 5G-Advanced release of new standards, Nokia Bell Labs has already begun the research work on 6G,” it said.'

Couple of points:

• The PUNKT MP01 phone is 2g only and, as far as I know, EE is the only provider that still supports 2g.

•The LIGHTPHONE can use 3g, 4g etc but is not supported by EE or O2.

'They' really don't want people to use 'dumb' phones, do they?! ☺
