The final stages of the attempted 'Brexit Con' are almost upon us.

At present it seems to me that they have the power to do whatever they want, especially while everybody is massively distracted by this 'coronavirus pandemic'.

In much the same way that little attention is being given to the boatloads of illegal immigrants arriving on Kent beaches everyday.

I'm only really seeing Nigel Farage making noises about this, yet he is being criticised for making a 'non-essential journey' in order to film what has been happening.

Too many people have fallen under this mass hypnotism of believing anything the Government and media tells them, and that by doing what they are told they will be 'kept safe'.

It is surely only a matter of time before we are all told that 'remaining closely aligned with the EU' (ie 'not leaving') will 'keep us safe'. And even a number of people who previously voted Leave will blindly go along with this.

There'll end up being an extension to this 'transition period' (I believe we have until the end of June to request this), and the Government will enjoy huge support for this. Then begins the task of preparing for some kind of 'second referendum', and the coronavirus fear panic will be used to sway peoples' opinions.

"Stay Safe. Stay in the EU"

(I voted Leave and would do so again)

You were absolutely right. They did ask for extension on 15th of May and have received the answer on 25th of May from Brussels who happily offers 1 or 2 year extension if UK is ready to make financial contributions towards EU. Joint Committee has to make agreement with UK until 1st of July.

Thanks for that, first I'd heard of this. But this isn't a formal request from the Government being replied to, it looks like a response to a 'begging' letter sent by a handful of hardcore ultra-Remainer MPs.

So while not legally binding in any way, it certainly gives you an idea of what is going to be forced on the Government soon.

And perhaps this is why there is so much 'pressure' being applied to Boris and the Tory government to 'deal with' Mr Cummings - maybe the 'plan' is to get him out of the picture, then a 'new' senior aide can be appointed who will be more, shall we say, 'favourable towards the EU' and will 'advise' Mr Johnson accordingly?

That's an interesting speculation, which would make me feel (just a little tiny bit) less hostile toward the pair of them.

It would also explain the frenzied baying for Cummings' blood from the reprobates in the press.

If you judge a man by his enemies, Cummings seems to be a good bloke.

Following on from that communication with the EU Ed Davey seeks to push through a private members bill.

Unlikely to succeed but one has to ask what does it take these days to get arrested for colluding with a foreign power.

Carisbrooke castle is currently close to the public.....certainly still room for someone there.

At the bottom of that page is a link to an article entitled...

Former BBC reporters among Remainers in demonstration outside Dominic Cummings' home

DEMONSTRATORS outside Dominic Cummings' home this week included a number a high-profile Remainers and former BBC reporters, it has emerged.

...And yet despite that headline, the article and photographs show clearly that the demo's were specifically people objecting to Cummings' breach of lock down rules, and zero to do with Brexit, so they are playing games again, deliberately misleading people.

I really don't wish to speculate. I think that serves no purpose. It is like believing instead of knowing.

What I do feel is certain, is that thanks to the destruction of most people's livelihoods, freedom of movement simply for pleasure between the EU  and UK won't be an issue anymore. Add to most people not earning enough money for travel anymore the atrocious conditions under which we are expected to travel: masks on flights, COVID document or app or whatever, has done away with one of the most beautiful things we had while member of the EU. The others? Well, you all know them too. Whatever else is behind the creation of the EU, membership gave British residents and nationals many beautiful things, but with this new strategy of fear of a supposed virus and all the evil that this brings with it, I think Brexit is the least of our worries...

What this is going to boil down to in the next week or two is how many Tory re-moaners were voted back into parliament in December does anyone know?

There are about 40 who were shouting out about the cummings episode. If there are another 40-ish that want to delay then we could be on shaky ground here. Someone is going to want to pass something through parliament to delay (go to the 2 year option). It could be a close thing as Boris hasnt made many friends in the last few months.

It is a fact that an extension to the trade negotiations deadline, in reality Brexit itself, is going to be agreed  This will be until at least December 31st 2021, but probably until December 31st 2022. The first questions to ask are when are the mass media going to run with the Remainiac narrative and will the general public swallow it? The PTB don't necessarily have to run with the Remainiac narrative in June, as they can just bullshit it later on in the year, whenever it suits them. However, as there have been a few 'Brexit Issue' nibbles in the mass media, over the past few weeks or so, then I do agree with the folks who think that it will happen imminently.

Furthermore, despite all of the economic carnage unleashed by the PTB, since the end of March, I still don't think that the embattled general public will swallow the lies. After all, rebate or not, for just how long can we go on paying the E.U. £350 million per week?! The mass media can only keep quiet about it for so long too. The Remainiacs will whine that we can't afford to finalise Brexit at the moment, due to all of the suffering businesses, but it will be one delay too many I think. The people will finally begin to see it as the cancellation that it really is. I definitey wouldn't want to be the PTB right now.

I think you've hit a nail on the head there. That will be the 'spin' that will be brought into play.

"Haven't our businesses suffered enough uncertainty through the Covid-19 pandemic already?'

"We need to keep businesses safe" ... "We need to protect the economy" ... The same words and mantras will continue, while they are embedded in the public consciousness.

SAFE

PROTECT

"The risks of ending the lockdown too soon" will become "The risks of leaving the EU"

'The Sturgeon', in ultra-masonic Scotland, gave a speech right along those very lines, but the PTB bottled it for England. The stage was well set, what with the recent news about April exhibiting the worst economic figures, since Raquel Welch seemingly couldn't afford a new bra in that dinosaur flick; the population well traumatised by 3 months of lockdown; and Premier League footy imminently set to be back on the BBC, as yet another 'big distraction' from everything Brexit.

However, if anyone thinks that the transition period not being extended today is the end of the Brexit antics, then they need to promptly report to their nearest loony bin. From reading some of the BBC News article comments earlier on, which claimed that a 'final victory had now been secured', I can't quite believe how naive some folks are. Look at what the PTB just unleashed, then ask yourselves 'Are they going to leave it at that?'. Hmm... :classic_rolleyes:

Well, it 'has' to be imminent. It can't not be imminent. It is a logical certainty. Even Laura 'OT Cheese Grater' Kuenssberg has stopped saying 'Don't forget we have already left sheeple!', whenever she gives an update on the E.U. trade negotiations. I don't even think you can get a bet on with the bookies that the so-called transition period won't be extended. They only seem to be taking bets on how long the extension period will be. Good to know we will finally be out by 31st December then. Ha ha ha. :classic_rolleyes:
