It's a weird one, the b side is alton ellis performing it's your thing. The coons seem to only have a couple of other songs, maybe they were a backing band not sure. As a racial slur I don't remember hearing it for a long time and of course it's disgusting but I find it hilarious when people try to cancel the past as potentially offensive, it just makes things a lot worse imo. Yeah, haven't heard or seen the word Coon for a long long time. In the USA its short for Racoon, I believe. It was used all the time in London in the 70s. TV show 'Love thy Neighbour' would almost certainly have had it among a thousand other phrases and names. I've never looked into the history of the use of that word in the racist context.
