Well, the Abbey Road album was comprised mainly of half finished songs. They weren't really working as a group by that point. I prefer "The Beatles For Sale", "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver". I still say "Revolver" is a better album that "Sgt. Pepper's". Then again, I prefer The Rolling Stones over The Beatles. I feel The Stones did a much better job at emulating the American Blues/Rhythm & Blues sound than The Beatles. Now, the inspiration for Fleetwood Mac's "Albatross" came from Santo & Johnny's, "Sleep Walk"

KingKitty
Speaking of The Beatles... This was the song that actually started the "British Invasion" in the USA back in the 60's. It went to number one on the charts in the US before the Mop Tops made the scene here. I should also point out, on lead guitar is the one and only Ritchie Blackmore of Deep Purple fame (On the actual recording, not the video. The bass player shown in the video didn't play the bass on the actual recording, either): Edited November 23, 2021 by KingKitty
KingKitty
Cliff Richards backing band was also known as The Shadows, lead by Hank Marvin. Hank owned the first Fender Stratocaster in the UK. He bought two of them, giving one to Cliff. Edited November 23, 2021 by KingKitty ...need more coffee... Brought a tear to my eye that one, my dad & brother loved it.
