That'd be a big problem. Would you trust clipping onto a zip wire ? You can watch the clips being attached and check them yourself. Zip lining is becoming a huge past time / hobby. Next best thing to freefall / paragliding.. l was up in Wales zip lining old slate mines last year.

This guy is a fool, haha. Humans are tiny in comparison to the size of the earth and even the most high powered lense will not show the curvature of the Earth while standing on it. You need to elevate high enough to where you can see the curvature. If that guy had a brain he would have filmed a ship on water traveling away from him to towards the horizon. This experiment was done and shown in that vid I posted of youtube channel Professor David. He included a short clip of a ship disappearing on the horizon which would not be possible if the Earth were flat. IF the Earth were flat the ship would stay in the same spot but shrink in size to a small spec, only reappearing if a more high powered lense were used. In the other vid, the ship disappears and we can watch it happen because the Earth is a sphere and so the ship disappears from the bottom first up to the top. That right there destroys flat Earth THEORY.

Chef
Why is it possible to see the french coastline from Dover and Folkestone beaches on a clear day? 21miles over the English channel. I never felt the need to question it until people started questioning spherical Earth.

Due to earths supposed said curvature , by rights we should lose sight of France but we don't & it can be seen quite clearly on a clear day. By FE logic you should be able to see the US with a powerful telescope
MarpatV2
If the distance from Dover to France is 21 miles then the curvature will be 294ft. The Dover cliffs are 350ft in height so will be visible. http://earthcurvature.com/

This yet another of the six million examples of impossible horizons for the ball gobblers. The loud little handful appears to have very few options here. This is what will happen: 1) This will be ignored. 2) They will claim that these people are only seeing a mirage. 3) They will claim that the Dover and Folkestone beaches are much higher than sea level where they actually are. 9 minutes ago, MarpatV2 said: If the distance from Dover to France is 21 miles then the curvature will be 294ft. This is from point one of the OP, @MarpatV2 You can see that the camera and laser are both just a short distance from the water. Watch it at least until the father shoots a laser directly into his son’s camera lens from 13.7 miles away! Now get back to earth curve calculator and explain. Thanks in advance.

bflat
RE: Never mind... I got this... @MarpatV2 I used the earth curve calculator that you posted above and input the 13.7 miles. The result is here: 0.02371 miles = 125.17 feet Due to the plethora of trolling, I have gone ahead and used a notorious nasa shill's calculator that pretends to account for his imagined standard refraction. I used six feet for the height of the camera, although it was clearly lower. As usual, I am giving all possible chances for your sphere. Now, check this out. : Distance = 13.7 miles (72336 feet), View Height = 6 feet (72 inches) Actual Radius = 3959 miles (20903520 feet) <---I am sure we agree here, fair? Refracted Horizon = 3.24 miles (17107 feet) <---The horizon we see in the video is clearly beyond this imagined refracted horizon of just over three miles, fair again? Refracted Drop= 107.28 feet (1287.35 inches) <---107 feet! Refracted! Is this making any sense to you yet? Refracted Hidden= 62.54 feet (750.45 inches) <--- Over 62 feet NEEDS to be hidden! Or a six freakin story building! Are we there? Geometric results (no refraction) Geometric Horizon = 3 miles (15838 feet) Geometric Drop = 125.16 feet (1501.9 inches) <---Just as your link indicated! Geometric Hidden= 76.35 feet (916.21 inches)

In that vid there are large hills in the background so it could be possible that the other person was a bit higher up on the hill. How do you know the vid has not been faked to create the illusion of flat earth? If the earth were flat then you would be able to see France from more than just the Dover cliffs, especially using binoculars. Stranraer to Belfast is 20 miles. Do people say they can see across here at sea level?

zArk
come on people, its getting ridiculous now the experiments are becoming more elaborate, higher tech is being used, the math is solid, we've been swizzled from an early age. even the stalwart of eclipse is being shown to be a trick of theory i expected a rebuttal by spherists, video evidence using very very expensive equipment and the ability to conduct experiments with minimum contamination but i only find fraud, cheating, downright lying. i expected more from spherists and rather than be disappointed with them i am disappointed with myself for not twigging on years ago

Guest Chica
Could it be that this whole discussion is pointless? Since we are on a DI forum and presumably somewhat inspired by his writings and speeches, we can see that once we start looking at this reality as a holographic illusion, flat earth etc. becomes somewhat irrelevant. As David has said once when asked about FE, that the projection from a holographic surface appears dome shaped and a 2D flat surface will project spherically when curved. I don't remember verbatim what he said. But I found a random link on internet discussing this- https://www.vox.com/2015/6/29/8847863/holographic-principle-universe-theory-physics There are other sites as well discussing this. If it's like being inside a virtual reality matrix, there is no point in discussing FE etc. in physical terms- perhaps we should focus on understanding why the FE theory is so stoutly denied and why the matrix exists at all. It is to delineate the boundaries of our prisons. And it is easier perhaps to drill in this limitation with a spherical earth with unreachable stars and (now) miniscule particles like viruses, both making us feel small and helpless. Even if we study all we can about our physical dimensions, we will still only be studying our prisons rather than trying to lift the veil from our eyes that there is no prison and we are 'free'. Accepting FE will open up a Pandora's box about what exists at the edge of it- firmament in Christianity for the believers for instance- but really the main risk is that accepting FE will expose the weaknesses in the holographic reality and make it easier to step out of it. For those who literally believe in a giant ball hanging in mid space, it offers a womb-like feeling of home, a security, that we have an actual physical location with limitless possibilities stretching into the infinity of space and thus a pretext to keep striving to reach outwards towards some illusory goal- reaching Mars, moon, galactic travel, colonising space etc. This way we remain invested in the illusory matrix. These are just my thoughts and of course I may be wrong on these points..
