No response to how the Sun sets, its size NEVER CHANGES as shown on video with a p1000, or how you can watch the sun set twice from a drone.

I think once one understands perspective and what the horizon actually is it all makes sense.

 

Horizon line-is always at eye level. Picture yourself at the seashore and looking out at the ocean you notice that the water meets the sky at your eye level. This never changes. You may be in an airplane 1000 feet up and the level that the ocean meets the sky is still at your eye level! Or you may be lying down on the beach and the ocean level drops with you. Think of it as an invisible plane that cuts through everything, that always exists at eye level.

That rules you out then. It makes sense already, we are on a planet. Perspective deals with things disappearing towards a vanishing point. The clue as always is in the name....VANISHING point. Not suddenly disappearing below eye-level from above it!

 

The horizon is always at eye level because the head naturally looks downwards towards it. It is near as damn it flat at sea level (with a 6ft / 3 miles angle 0.0217 degrees down!) but at 1000ft, the horizon is 38.7 miles.  Now you are looking down at 0.28 degrees - so again it looks level.

 

It isn't!

Not only that but he is not supplying any details. No map, because none exists that CAN work on a flat surface. No distance to the Sun or Moon. Even when given the LOWEST ludicrous Sun height possible, he and the others just completely ignored 100% in your face trigonometry showing how far the Sun HAS to be on the horizon..

 

Sun @ 5 miles above Earth level with Everest(as if!).....Sun on the horizon at 0.001 degrees above it. Trigonometry for the "applied mathematician" places it 286,000 miles away!!

 

Blanket denial of things so stunningly obvious and irrefutable it beggars belief. My post above made by a foot shooting flat earther, "showing the sunset" whilst showing the Sun get smaller is enough to put this whole thing to bed. Just that sequence of images. I think a great rule here would be something about not making up stories to argue with while pretending you are debunking someone's position. Especially if the person has the same argument with themselves for several pages and sometimes more than once per page. I definitely believe this would help with the mods frustration with this thread.

This thread should be about debate not debait. If someone is making a claim & cant explain something, they should just say they dont know or understand. Like I would say when it comes to measuring the suns distance from Earth using trigonometry or radio frequencies bouncing off the moon & back.

 

But when someone is deliberately avoiding the topic like the plague & blatantly being deceptive GASLIGHTING you claiming the total opposite of anything you say. They are obviously not the full ticket & should be removed from the discussion.

The distance from Sydney to London is not 10,000 miles, Australia is not 5,000 miles wide & Sydney to Santiago is definitely not 17000 miles either. Not possible without refuelling or in the given time.

Alexa, you don't appear to know much at all. Water finds its level according to the rate of fall due to gravity. Gravity pulls things towards the centre of mass. The centre of mass is in the middle of planet. The globe. Like every other planet and Moon and Sun in the solar system.
