Message added by Grumpy Owl,

This topic is for all general discussion regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. There are of course numerous other related topics for discussing specific aspects of this pandemic in more detail. And there are other parts of this forum for more 'off-topic' discussions.

I received a letter today to suggest an opportunity to get vaccinated at my doctor's. Snag is I haven't seen a doctor in years. Never have flu jabs and my only weak spot is chronic hayfever. My decision is already made that I have no plan to vaccinate, whether for flu or this latest virus. Rather than preach my opinion, the only argument I can make dead simple is that "officially" it's now stated the vaccine doesn't stop those who opted for it speading the virus. So, I ask, what is the point. I don't perceive any threat to myself (assuming that's the aim of the letter). As I said before I am not in the same tight spot as those people who are employed. I was already a bit of a social misfit before all of the hysteria kicked in so am used to battling my own corner. I sometimes wonder when push comes to shove, how many of those who often tell me they won't have the vaccine will give in. Not that I would judge them in any way. As a psychologist, I know how social conditioning makes it very hard for most people to defy authority. Conditioning, of course, starts at school and it was only effectively challenged by the masses in the mid sixties - turn on, tune in, drop out. Now, my guess is social restrictions will follow those of us "witches" who refuse to follow the crusade. Not sure how many there will be - mabe many like me, who knows?

Just bin the letter. If they harass you with text etc.... reply with one word "Decline". It's an offer...right?

looks more like a prison than a hotel. Why would they need bars unless they expect people to try and escape what shit starts happening when they’re in there.

Yeah it's a tough one. Mass noncompliance would be the ideal choice. I was talking with a couple friends who are in the uk about this last night. One thinks violence is the only way out of this, the other said its exactly what they want.

What's for sure and I say this as a pacifist and a believer in the teachings of christ that when I think of the idea of forced vaccination,  forcibly removing people, using fear to manipulate and worse then I think although I agree with friend number 2 that certain tactics are certainly called for.

Like I said to someone earlier, if people want to live in fear, wear masks, go get vaccinated and hide away that's their prerogative.ill give my opinion but each to their own. Second someone wants to tell me to do these things we have a problem and its absolutely fair enough to reply with force. Might not get you very far but surely it's the only logical conclusion for any being with any soul still intact.

There are two things we want to avoid I think: total compliance or a little bit of violence/rioting.

With 100% compliance they will take the piss and continue to do so indefinitely. WIth a little bit of rioting they will bring in the heavies and use it as an excuse for even harder lockdown.

With mass rioting or mass peaceful non-compliance they will have a real problem on their hands.

Seems to be a global movement underway. In short, governnents are being recognised as corrupt and anti-democratic. The balance of trust and compromise has faded. Worldwide people are seeking genuine representation. In Russia and Belarus this has come to a very serious head. People there want more from government and the younger Russians are now very alike Europeans. It's the same desire everywhere. People need a proper constitution and legally protected civil rights - crisis or no crisis. They need fair elections and multiple parties. Not the same old faces at the top year in year out. A lot more should have been done to keep employment mobile and functional. I.T. was allowed to destroy real jobs. I mean, in my day young people got secure jobs in factories and then socialised. So much went wrong. The snag is politicians are neither trained or capable to reform the system. Sorry this is a it jerky but the idea is there.

Disagree, they will just wipe it. No problem, it is just gone as it never was real anyway!

There are vastly more powerful systems than is allowed to the public, they have no issue there.

There is one problem which they will need to address and that is the energy to run the system?

This from our gracious host;

"The reason we are so controlled is not that we don't have the power to decide our own destiny, it is that we give that power away every minute of our lives. When something happens that we don't like, we look for someone else to blame. When there is a problem in the world, we say "What are they going to do about it". At which point they, who have secretly created the problem in the first place, respond to this demand by introducing a 'solution' - more centralisation of power and erosion of freedom. If you want to give more powers to the police, security agencies and military, and you want the public to demand you do it, then ensure there is more crime, violence and terrorism, and then it's a cinch to achieve your aims. Once the people are in fear of being burgled, mugged or bombed, they will demand that you take their freedom away to protect them from what they have been manipulated to fear. The Oklahoma bombing is a classic of this kind, as I detail in ..And The Truth Shall Set You Free. I call this technique problem-reaction-solution.

Create the problem, encourage the reaction "something must be done", and then offer the solution. It is summed up by the Freemason motto 'Ordo Ab Chao' -order out of chaos. Create the chaos and then offer the way to restore order. Your order. The masses are herded and directed by many and varios forms of emotional and mental control. It is the only way it coud be done."

Texted a Dutch fella I met while travelling out of curiosity, asking what's really going on over there. He said a lot of people are now waking up in a big way to the fact that this is not about a virus.

While that's great I'm a bit split on the violence. On the one hand it hands them an easy excuse to crack down harder, on the other hand it's better than peaceful acceptance of destruction of countless lives and livelihoods. The best way by far is to take off the masks and open businesses but at this stage that's real unlikely

Voiceover commentary is patronizing and threatening, announcing the "first jail for quarantine refusers", "starting February."
The shown facility is a "vacant" juvenile prison in Moltsfelde, Schleswig-Holstein where
"COVID-19 offenders will soon be locked up."
Reporter with microphone says "quarantine offenders would not be allowed to go outside
but would need to stay inside their 12 m2 cells which do not look quite inviting.
You should think twice before rejecting home quarantine. Your own home is likely to be much more comfortable."
Voiceover: "In a three-shift schedule, retired police and correction officers watch over the prisoners."
Local politician in suit says this was the "ultimate measure we take" to punish multiple offenders.
VO: maximum "jail time" will be the duration of the quarantine, "usually a few days".

On MRSA - I'm a few pages behind- I'd like to share experience working for contracted NHS domestics.

20 years old, I found myself in a position that I need to take a job, any job outside my profession. That happened to be cleaning a hospital.

I was originally on night shift, buffing corridoors and large areas nothing to do with wards.

But soon after I was put on day shift and trained in the ways to clean wards effectively. That and do the daily tasks in the doctors apartments on site - bed change clean cooker etc.

To properly clean a ward took at least 30 minutes. at least. But after a short time, targets dictated that the time shrank.

Since I was doing my job, eventually I was called in to ask why I am slacking and not meeting targets.

I told them. I do a good job. I am cleaning everything. But the boss didn't give a shit- I'm just taking too long. And if I didn't pull my finger out, I'd be looking for another job real soon. Think about it for a moment. A ward. They were trying to say that one person should be able to wipe over every bed, change all the sheets, clean the floor and empty all the bins in less than half an hour and move on. I can't remember if it was 20 or 25 minutes at the time. It just gradually becomes more and more ridiculous.

When the fellow domestics came together in the smoking room on break, it was revealed to me how the rest of them also found the targets impossible. But the majority just pretended they did their job and got out of there because, you know, money. It's needed. Meanwhile MRSA is fucking real people up, losing limbs and dying needlessly, due to a company trying to maximise profits. That was the penultimate wake up call to me and god knows how bad it is today 20+ years later. saying that I just heard that shocking podcast from the fat earth. People wailing for help and getting ignored. It seems to me like the best place to go if you wanna end it all is hospital these days.

This is almost hell.

Science doesn't lie. Scientists don't lie.

I can't figure out if you're being sarcastic or whether you actually that woefully misinformed and/or naïve?

There's been crisis building in the modern scientific field for decades.. and we don't have to go back further in history to remember what all the esteemed "scientists" used to believe our bodies and the world/universe around us.

https://www.corbettreport.com/the-crisis-of-science/

In recent years, the public has gradually discovered that there is a crisis in science. But what is the problem? And how bad is it, really? Today on The Corbett Report we shine a spotlight on the series of interrelated crises that are exposing the way institutional science is practiced today, and what it means for an increasingly science-dependent society.

Your experience is the real life equivalent of a Ken Loach film. He always shows how all human values are wrecked and destroyed by the pursuit of big ££. It's the kind of anti-society we associate with the names of Thatch and Bliar. Though both are now gone, the after stench still lingers on, indeed more intense than ever...just like a particularly unpleasant piece of excreta.

Australians havent been allowed to leave for almost a year

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-08-31/coronavirus-covid-outbound-international-travel-ban-morrison/12605404

What is the ban?

The ban on leaving Australia was put in place by Health Minister Greg Hunt on March 25, as an “emergency requirement” under the Biosecurity Act. It is the first time Australia has had such a ban, and it was made on the advice of the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee.

The determination says plainly:

An Australian citizen or permanent resident … must not leave Australian territory as a passenger on an outgoing aircraft or vessel.

The accompanying statement explains,

[This] is in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to represent a severe and immediate threat to human health in Australia and across the globe.

Is this legal?

The government legally made the determination under the Biosecurity Act, which gives the health minister power to put in place “any requirement” they believe is necessary to prevent or control the entry or spread of the virus into Australia.

International law recognises the right to leave any country, including your own, but there is no equivalent constitutional protection in Australia.

In other words, Australians don’t have a constitutional right to leave Australia.

Most applications to leave are not successful

Despite these exemptions, it is still difficult to get permission to leave. Only about one in three requests are being granted.

According to Border Force, between March and mid-August it received more than 104,000 requests to leave Australia. About 34,300 exemptions have been granted.
