Apparently in the UK, Boris is set to give a special press conference tomorrow (23rd).  It will be a national lockdown, under a new jazzy term,  perhaps tier 17, who knows.

There's coersion going on. "No" should suffice. Answering "why?" might cause offence so "It's my own business.". Any "I'm making it my business!" should generate a voluntary agreement by the person in your face to be your guinea pig. Have a procedure in place to provide help and assistance to those who want in on your business. If they want to take over your business, walk away, its their business. If they escalate offences, do what the ancestors always did when reason and peaceable posture failed. These are crimes so serious that nations signed treaties to bind themselves to mutually protect each other if these types of crimes began being committed by governments. Netherlans has been the genocide centre of Europe for over a decade while the media said little. This is not a theory, these are mass murderers.

You heard no doubt a few times in your lifetime how back in their day people were friendlier, more sharing, smarter or at least had more common sense, had more moral integrity faith etc as I and most will have done once or twice. It seems that the older I get the more I believe it. Which may or may not have been by design all along instead of just being personal aging nostalgia - however.

 

The absolute ignorance and submission to this scary fairytale that will ultimately reduce everyone left to jellyfish, or perhaps a better analogy would be worker bees - as if we all weren't halfway there already before this grab that took less than a year - truthfully surprised and cemented it for me. So, I suppose my opening statement was critical but ultimately I agree with you. LOL

 

This ought to be played every hour on BBC hell maybe it is already not like I'd know, what do I know. Maybe there's a killer virus after all and licking your hands clean after a pack of wotsits, after pushing a shopping trolley around morrisons and NOT disenfecting it, NOT washing your hands before inbetween or after actually negates it..

So apparently Aberdeen Royal Infirmary is filled with covid patients and ambulances are having to wait.

I waited to question this and have asked several staff who I know and they confirmed there are no beds available, it's chaotic.

 

Hmm!!

 

So sounds like folk are being hospitalised for the flu to make it look worse than it is.

Thank you - it a shame words are not contemplated and comprehended in their meaning and power or how in turn meaning reflects on volition.

What we need to be aware in the UK is that they are now trying to change the Human Rights which we are not discussing so far. Whatever changes they are making, it won't be good for us and we may not be able to say it's discrimination. One to watch out for. I'm sure there are some barristers who are looking into it though.

Remember.  Beds are always short or non existent in our underfunded nhs this time of year. They've also removed 10000 beds from the system for covid spacing 'reasons.' Staff are having to isolate if they get a cough or cold having previously been forced to work unless actually dying

Guess whose Christmas isn’t cancelled? Boris and Carrie could still legally have a rather merry Christmas if they wanted to.Well not this year! Because — lucky all of us — several forces appear to have combined to liven things up really quite a lot. Turning on the radio has never felt more like an episode of Black Mirror and, frankly, we needed that kind of excitement to round off 2020. And what could liven things up more at Christmas time than Christmas being cancelled? (OK yes aside from our borders closing and a new “Super-Covid” mutant virus strain and an even more panicky round of panic-buying and a fast-approaching no-deal Brexit?) But despite the headlines, not everybody’s Christmas has been cancelled. For a start, of course, if you’re not in a Tier 4 area, you can still mix with two other households on Christmas Day itself. And, because of the “linked household” — ie support bubble — exemption, what that in fact means is that up to six households can in fact legally mix if each of those households is linked up with another. (If this is all a bit confusing, barrister Adam Wagner has done a good job of explaining it on his YouTube channel.) As Boris Johnson pointed out during his press conference on Saturday night, that doesn’t mean people should actually be aiming to mix that much. But they could do, legally speaking. Even if you are in Tier 4, you can still get together with another household if you’re in a support bubble with them. Boris also mentioned this during the press conference on Saturday, saying this rule would remain in place “for those of particular risk of loneliness or isolation”. And we all know that includes people who live alone or single parents — for good reason. But what we hadn’t noticed until now is that it also includes another group of people. The odd thing about this group is that we haven’t heard them being mentioned by either the prime minister or other government ministers in press conferences or any media appearances. And you would have thought an exemption that applies to, by our estimates, about three-quarters of a million households in the UK might have come up. After all, not everyone has the time to wade through the pages of ever- changing coronavirus legislations (or even the capacity to work out what they actually mean). Even Larry the Number 10 Cat doesn’t seem to have understood the implications: We’re not quite sure we understand the rationale for the exemption. If it’s about giving mothers with postnatal depression a break, we can kind of understand that, but we are talking here about those who have partners (or at least one other adult living with them) so one would hope that in the majority of these cases, that partner can provide at least some support. And if this is the rationale, what about exemptions for other depressed people? Surely new parents living together are not the highest-risk category for those suffering from “loneliness or isolation”? We are of course not so cynical as to be suggesting that the rules have been deliberately tailored to give the prime minister’s family some leeway (what do you take us for). We just wanted to make sure you understood the rules so that you can have a happy Christmas while avoiding a criminal record. Enjoy your walks with one other person and your freezing outdoor swims and your last unrationed imports and your merry grouse-shooting (yes the “outdoor activity” loophole is still in place in Tiers 1, 2 and 3).

Yes -  the nuremberg code is the one that carries most weight imo.

 

As an aside, I am not convinced by the self elected UN's effort "the declaration of human rights"

They assert themselves as self appointed arbiters of morality. (Their actions suggest otherwise)

The title itself uses socialist collectivism "Human  to start which immediately negates the individual by addressing each one of us as a group - They insult!

The language employed is UCC legalese whereby the "person" is the commercial entity and as such is defined by the state. Again negating the individual and possibly our species.

 

"Equality" is another "useful" diversion which subverts the primary individuals rights, instead focusing on subjective issue.

If natural primary individual rights are observed, then all other "rights" are observed by default. 

As "law" stands our Principles are censored by omission !

 

...and thats another aspect that is non congruent with contemporary platitudes.

 

The idea that Law is above Principle in itself is anathema to the moral self rationalising individual.

Earlier this week we suggested the best way to counter vaccine fears and conspiracies was with creative-minded solutions, not authoritarian-sounding declarations about compulsory vaccination programmes. 

There were three main alternative strategies we offered.

One: Bigging up messaging that highlighted the public duty of getting vaccinated, something we believe would work wonders with all those inclined to signal their virtuous acts loudly across social media.

Two: Getting high-profile celebrities, officials and leaders to take the vaccine first so as to drum up public confidence in its safety. This would be akin to a “skin in the game” strategy and would be especially effective with the conspiracy-inclined if it featured those who have become central figures in conspiracy narratives such as Bill Gates, The Queen, Joe Biden etc etc. 

Three: Launching counter-conspiracies that would challenge the accepted conspiratorial view that it’s the vaccine that should not be trusted rather than the virus itself. Like the idea that the vaccine is actually here to save us from Alien colonisation. 

It didn’t take long for the system to provide.

In a weird on-air rendition of the game of chicken, Piers Morgan started the ball rolling on Wednesday when he challenged Matt Hancock, the UK health secretary, to take the vaccine live on air with him if it helped to reassure the public about its safety. Hancock agreed, providing the act was approved since Morgan didn’t qualify as priority case, being a healthy middle-aged man.

Nicola Sturgeon has now supposedly followed suit, promising to also join in with the live spectacle and Boris Johnson might too, according to the Daily Mail. 

On the same day, the Washington Post’s Alyssa Rosenberg argued that Biden and Harris should get vaccinated live on TV too, saying:

Biden and Harris can use their inoculations to take the public inside the vaccine development and delivery process and, in doing so, build confidence in an unprecedented scientific accomplishment. Such a concrete demonstration of the vaccines could also help Americans recommit to the public health measures that will be a bridge between our current disaster and the new normal we all hope will be here soon.

Soon after that former US president Barack Obama’s declared that he would be happy to take the vaccine publicly too. And he is now also being joined by former presidents George Bush and Bill Clinton.

o the big question now is: will this sort of thing actually reassure the public? A Gallup poll earlier in November had found 42 per cent of Americans had doubts about the vaccine. 

The initial feedback from the doubters is “no it won’t”, because “how do we know they’re not getting a placebo”?

Our own preferred control for this vulnerability (at least in the dystopian world of 2020) is of course enlisting well-known conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones and David Icke to pick out the samples to be used from batches which would otherwise be destined for general public consumption. The delivery and administration of the sample should then be supervised by 12 honest individuals picked at random from among the public in a similar way juries are constructed. 

What’s not to like? 

Not much. Apart from . . . one small thing: the clear and present danger that any overly successful adoption by the rich and privileged leads the conspiracy minded to conclude that was actually the plan all along.

That is to say they begin to believe their fears were intentionally cultivated so as to ensure the vaccine could and would be harmoniously distributed to the rich and the privileged first. 

Yep, there’s no end to the potential game theoretical strategising. We assume 2020 will be enough to keep behavioural economists busy for many decades
