Grumpy Owl
15 minutes ago, Macnamara said: The guys at the Uk Column said in their christmas round up that they have been told by people within the NHS that they are being prepared to handle a 'state of emergency' The thing is that this has been a story every year in the run up to Christmas, "winter pressure" on the NHS, how the hospitals "can't cope" etc etc, and this always precedes the usual demands for "more money for the NHS", most noticeably in winter periods preceding a general election, for which then the empty 'promises' start falling out the mouths of politicians on the campaign trail. The NHS gets more money every year, but the frontline doctors and nurses don't get their payrise.
