That and so we can never have the numbers to vote for our own interests again. Not that we have anyone to vote for though, but just in case.

so er....when is brexit going to arrive? how many years has that been since we voted to have brexit in a democratic referendum?

BUT STILL NO BREXIT

I expect they will follow the German model and blame Christmas shoppers for a spike in cases of the new strain and lock us all up for the New Year and beyond. That's an optomistic guess.

Knowing how the UK government have behaved lately, I can definitely see a u-turn, probably on Christmas Eve, and England (at least) being put into a late December to mid January lockdown, nicely (and coincidentally) in line with the others.

Don't know i think us Brits are probably up there with you for one of the worst in regards of being jobsworths and power hungry and pedantic whinging little karens.

Although listening to some Irish folks it does sound like you guys are a bit worse.

Its like owen said these shop assistants and what not are so brazen with their questioning when you first come up against it is staggering because it is ridiculous. They know they can get away with it and any lawsuit that comes their way i am sure the company would back them up but i know nothing of the legal matters.

Its very frustrating having idiots assume you should just be wearing a mask and if not why not. Fucking dreadful people.

I mean yeah I agree, Britain has a bit of a fixation on "doing the nation proud" or everyone just pulling together so they can "do their bit", the old wartime mentality Boris and Hancock have been exploiting since March. It's pretty sad.

But we have our own brand of unique, inferiority-complex driven finger-wagging. It's the kind of thing that makes you think if we see the end of Western Society and Berlin and Paris on fire in Dublin we'll have a few scumbags throwing beer bottles at our hilariously out of shape police while a thousand grannies twitch their curtains in disapproval. If we're going to go down it should at least be with a bang, no chance of that with us though.

Hard to fully explain to anyone who's not Irish or hasn't lived there but I think this Father Ted clip gets close to capturing it.

It seems they are headed that way unfortunately, but it looks like they've just blatantly changed their figures retrospectively to make them look more scary. These are old death figures vs new.

Can't find old cases figures but those are even more out of whack now.

First result on Google, which I believe is Worldometer. First thing people will be seeing if they search. First one is from Euromomo I believe via an Ivor Cummins video. They looked the same until I saw that today.

Edit: the graphs on Google link to John Hopkins. On looking at it a bit more it seems they've put down several days of 0 deaths and cases and grouped the rest of the numbers into several "spikes". Very weird stuff, but I noticed the papers have been claiming that Sweden is at breaking point for a while now when the data didn't seem to line up with this whatsoever. Are they really that shameless?

Or have they just buckled under the same pressure just about every other country has? Good on them for resisting this long!

The Swedes probably felt compelled to go along with it, as in 'you are either with us; or you are with the terrorists'.

'New variant' of coronavirus identified - Hancock

So on it goes, merry go round...and round. London in Tier 3 (whatever that means....I stopped following) from Wednesday. They didn't even allow enough time for Christmas shopping. Is it essential?

From what I could gather, non-essential shops are still allowed to stay open.

I wouldn't be at all surprised, if a big bomb goes off somewhere in London, say between 26th December and 31st December.

A "new variant" of Covid? "The virus has mutated!" Sounds like a cheesy B movie. So predictable and desperate. Am I supposed to be scared of this utter nonsense? What a load of shite.

Guterres, the U.N. secretary-general, was predicting a mutation by the end of this year. He made his prediction way back in April.

Plus they know nobody is going to take them on through the legal process

At least Gemma O'Doherty and John Waters had a go. I thought it was a worthwhile effort.

This is all fear mongering and psychological trauma inducing, the government is run by psychopaths. They said we can all have Christmas and then week before they change their mind, after people who have barely the left the house all year have made plans, booked hotels and bought presents and all the rest. These people are sick in the head.

From what I could gather, we do still technically have a Christmas amnesty, but some reunited families are now going to be more hampered in how much they can enjoy themselves.

So you don't respect the vote, well at least you're honest.

No not at all...I mean we're back talking about brexit, but does not look like we'll actually get it! I voted to leave! Why, because I don't like how truly un-demoncratic the EU is with all it's power grabs. If they UK wanted to reduce VAT on sanitary towels, it could not make the decision on it's own. If you or I or anyone else in the 28 member state does not like the direction of travel, or a new law - tough....there is even less you can do about it...you can't vote in the council members, you can't vote them out....you can only vote for you MEP...and they have about as much power as a Covid Marshal......

@Illmaticout of likes haha I used to watch father Ted all the time. I think all our isles are fcked tbh.

On a positive note the Irish voices who have been speaking out about this whole thing have been a "godsend" for me personally. I've definitely got Irish blood in me.

Yeah Dave Cullen, John Waters, Ivor Cummins all great analysts and very brave. Even Gemma O'Doherty though she makes a few claims she can't really back up and tends to be an easy target for the MSM to pick off. Long term I think there might be worse places to be stuck if I'm banned from flying anywhere, we've got a lot of great minds and personalities on our little island. It's just a shame that there's also many people still stuck in their Catholic guilt complex blindly trusting a government full of illegal developers and landlords leading us up the swanny.

I'm reading an excellent, if quite depressing book at the moment by Doug Valentine on CIA corruption called "The CIA As Organised Crime", if anyone wants to check it out.

I thought I'd share a couple of parts of it as they gave me chills when I read them. The book was released in 2017.
