Totally agree. There is a reason why the excellent dystopian nightmarish series by Charlie Brooker is called "Black Mirror". That's exactly what television is. I had an argument the other day with a brainwashed COVID freak, who was lecturing me how people who go on about individual liberty and rights are a danger to public health. I said what about human rights, do you care about human rights? He said of course, we need to fight for human rights. I said do you mean "unalienable" rights? He had no idea what I was talking about. I said go and look up the word "unalienable" or "inalienable" in the dictionary and get back to me. Uk column has started a series of talks dsicussing the common law https://www.ukcolumn.org/article/dissidents-guide-constitution-episode-2-common-law Its an interesting subject where Natural Law is identified and acknowledged to some extent in common law. Common Law appears to be Law of the land whereas Statute Law is apparantly Law of the sea. (admiralty, maritime etc) Law society solicitors/lawyers state that statutes take precedence, but in a common law court with a jury statutes can be over-ruled by a common law jury. jury nullification! edit: To me it seems that the statute law system are the laws of invaders ! People tend to get brave and take direct action when they have nothing to lose. Those sitting in Muswell hill drinking takeaway frappacinos on zoom all day - couldn't give a hoot. The furlough scheme was extended to March on purpose, because by then the vaccine will have been rolled out and things will start to go to the new normal which most have already accepted (tell em enough times and it sticks like any other form of brain washing). This is why there hasn't been massive direct action because only a few are bothered about it. I've been feeling quite down the last couple of days. With this latest vaccine news and the fanfare it's been getting it feels like we're moving too quickly toward a very dark time in history to fully prevent it happening.
