Usually at the time someone writes a will in favor of a relative they will also grant a power of attorney enabling that relative to make medical decisions. But not always. Obviously if you had a legal right to make her medical decisions you would be in a better position. If she is still deemed mentally competent to make her own decisions that makes it more difficult too. I'll have a think about it.

The problem is, is that in just the 24 hours since she has been admitted she has completely changed her views about the jabs which she has always been adamant she wouldn't have. When I spoke with her today she was talking about setting a petition up when she comes home to honour the doctors and nurses on the front line treating Covid. They have clearly got to her, in her weakened state. She is in her own room rather than being in a ward which I also don't like.

I find that difficult to believe. Even for the NHS. But stranger things have happened. Do you have the funds for a lawyer?

What should I be asking please? You need to know exactly what your rights are and the rights of your mother. There's a website with information about NHS patients' rights, which is a start: https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/health/nhs-healthcare/nhs-patients-rights/ It may also be worth trying to find out about the NHS Trust that the hospital belongs to. They should also have information about patient rights on their website. For example, if you lived in Bristol, you'd find this: https://www.nbt.nhs.uk/patients-carers/coming-hospital/rights-responsibilities So find out your local NHS Trust. Clearly they have never heard of the Constitution. “Although Congress has indisputably given OSHA the power to regulate occupational dangers, it has not given that agency the power to regulate public health more broadly,” the ruling states. “Requiring the vaccination of 84 million Americans, selected simply because they work for employers with more than 100 employees, certainly falls in the latter category.” Other paragraphs reflect this. It seems that it would have been fine if done by Congress. I didn't see any discussion of the Constitution in there.
