Message added by Grumpy Owl,

This topic is for all general discussion regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. There are of course numerous other related topics for discussing specific aspects of this pandemic in more detail. And there are other parts of this forum for more 'off-topic' discussions.

Everyone stop paying council tax and block every government building in the country, making sure no one can enter. See how they get on then.

Yes! I've been to Liverpool and Manchester several times and one thing I love about the people is they don't take things lying down and don't suffer fools the likes of Boris and this Tory government gladly. Memories are too fresh in the north of Thatcher and her psychopathic disregard for working class life.

The only way through this is to open up businesses, ignore the bullying, intimidation and granny-killer propaganda pumped out by the media. The only way they could stop it is to send in massive amounts of police/the army to shut down every business, not a very good look for them.

Good one Mr E

It seems like Boris's image is built to imitate a comedy figure

His hair is always disheveled , even in set televised announcements when a make-up / hairdresser person would have given him the once over  ...

Why are so many ready to trade in the ancient liberties bequeathed to them, for the risible delusion of safety from a virus?

To paraphrase Benjamin Franklin:

"You gave up your essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety and so you'll end up with neither."EhqfaokWoAA7ndz?format=jpg&name=large

BREAKING: Despite attempts to eradicate death through 21st Century Witchcraft (aka Lockdowns), statisticians believe the likelihood of dying is still around pre-Covid levels (c.100%):

They have based their whole strategy around this idea of manipulating the R value of the virus through lockdown measures.

1) Normal flu R value is higher than what they have considered an acceptable R value for 2019-ncov

2) It is questionable whether a virus R value can be manipulated by lockdown measures.
