There appears to be some growing resistance to the idea of a 'full lockdown', so what the "circuit breaker" appears to suggest is a "soft full lockdown". To do this over the school half-term just smacks of creating more misery for everyone (and that's the idea). While the schools are closed, all the "fun" stuff will have to be 'closed' too. Everyone will need to stay at home to 'stop the spread' (remember that one?) And no doubt while everyone is cooped up at home, the volunteers will be knocking on doors to collect more 'positive' test results. "Oh no, the 'circuit breaker' isn't working! One of the other things we indulged apart from ASCII art and playing tunes on the band printer was a shared file called 'Mother' - It was the secret shift handover log.. We could all add to it and it was considered a place where, without judgement we could be honest about the other shifts and write diary entries. It was not for the feint hearted. When I joined I spent hours reading through the vitriol and bile they spewed at each other. Venting rage at f*ck-ups, taking the piss at apparel, girlfriends/boyfriends or whatever. But the golden rule was that NOTHING came outside into real life, all was accepted as being written in the heat of the moment. Maybe we could have something similar here.
