This topic is for all general discussion regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. There are of course numerous other related topics for discussing specific aspects of this pandemic in more detail. And there are other parts of this forum for more 'off-topic' discussions.

This graph was featured on UK Column's report yesterday and compares the death rates per 100,000 in non lockdown Sweden over the last 30 years. It shows a trend of decline in death rates including for 2020 and is yet more evidence exposing what a farce lockdown is.

The BBC did a very weak hit piece on Sweden just yesterday. The video segment I saw was all about focussing on 'unnecessary' care home deaths in Sweden. Talk about throwing stones in glass houses! There was zero comparison of their death rate with that of the U.K. or any other lockdown countries. Extremely treacherous material, at least as far as I was concerned.

I heard that he is now joining the 'Get back to school!' squad.

Someone should politely remind Damian Collins, God knows what the PTB might have on him, that treason is already illegal in the U.K.. I really can't stand for his talk, as everyone knows that society would be far worse off going down his road. Even if I agreed with what he saw as the problem in theory, which I certainly don't, then I would still be strongly opposing what he is pushing for. :classic_angry:

Yes, how dare they! I am still trying to get my head round how our House Of Commons swiftly passed the Coronavirus Bill, with virtually no serious questions being asked or with any amendments. :classic_ohmy:

A year or two ago lots of Vietnamese started flocking to Minds to express their anger over draconian policies in Vietnam. Now there is a big influx of Thai users joining. I wonder if anything fishy is going on there.

There's a soft-lockdown in Thailand, with a nightly curfew in place. The miltary government are meeting tomorrow to discuss the situation, in a country with the population size similar to UK, but with 50 or so official deaths from 'covid'. There's a growing unrest amongst some Thais that the government are moving far too strongly for what the situation deserves. This coupled with a complete lack of faith in their new King, is possibly why they are more active in their discussions outside of facebook (bearing in mind there are restrictions criticising the monarchy, which hitherto wasn't an issue).

Some major shopping mall chain (Central, the largest group) are enforcing an app to be downloaded before entrance to the mall and each individual store.

Oh god thats just painful to watch

You know its only when you step away from this Televised propaganda that you come back to it late and see how patronising and uninformative it really is

*edit* I mean Luke makes a good few points there and is talking sense but just the overwhelming effect of TV programming is to numb the mind and kill any autonomous thinking

This is why I have been telling people for weeks, if you want the pandemic to end, turn off the TV.  It will all be over at that exact moment because what's actually going on in the real world is the exact opposite of what the TV is saying.  There's no virus spreading like wildfire, the hospitals are not filled up with Covid victims, there's no dead bodies piling up anywhere, and old people are not falling over in the streets if they're not wearing a mask.  None of what the media is saying is actually happening. None of it.

Prepping us for the "second wave" which will no doubt be "worse" than the first and blamed on releasing the lockdown too soon.

COVID-19 is "so successful" that it will never be eradicated, a virus expert has claimed, as fears of a second spike continue to grow.

Professor David Robertson, head of viral genomics and bioinformatics at the University of Glasgow, believes the highly infectious respiratory infection is "almost uncontrollable".

"It is so transmissible, it's so successful, we're so susceptible, we are still fearful that the relaxation of some of the lockdown measures might send figures up again and create a second spike."

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-is-so-successful-it-will-never-be-eradicated-expert-claims-11991024

No one even has a basic understanding that the probability of a virus this sophisticated and complex jumping from an animal to a human is about 10 trillion to 1.  It's so laughable how gullible people are, and so tragic how under-educated they are, which makes them very easy to manipulate.

A billion people actually sleep with their animals/pets and this never happens!!

I visited several Middle Eastern countries back in the 80's.  After what I saw going on, I started telling  people all the way back then that the best way to manipulate people and make them believe anything is to keep them uneducated, because that is what those countries do.

That's similar to a strip cartoon published at the weekend over a number of weeks in one of the main tabloids, maybe 13ish years ago. I can't remember which paper it was in, but I rung them asking what the idea was, and the woman I spoke to didn't know anything about it and sounded upset about it. There was a long thread about it on the old DIF forum.

It's bugging me because in recent months I've tried to recall some of the details, and searched but can find nothing.

Size of Light, or someone else around at the time - if you remember it, let me know, would you?

I think included a war, with Big Ben getting blown up.

I remember this. At the time, a mate of mine's brother thought that it was a meta-script to some forthcoming event. I just emailed him now (not the brother), he had a quick search, but cannot remember anything tangible.

Was it in The Independent newspaper, or The Telegraph? ?

It was somewhere on the GOV.UK website, that inhalation of isocyanate 2K fumes can cause a type of asthma which is permanent. Symptoms of which included breathing difficulties, fever/chills, skin rashes. Which all oddly to me sounded like 'Covid-19' symptoms.

Apparently, delirium is now also classed as a Coronavirus symptom. This BBC article is angled at ICU patients, but I am suspicious of another motive here.

Looks like its going to be online learning ill next year

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-52732814

There will be no face-to-face lectures at the University of Cambridge over the course of the next academic year due to coronavirus, it has been announced.

However, lectures will be available to students online and "it may be possible to host smaller teaching groups in person" if they meet social distancing requirements, the university said.

University campuses have been closed this term by the Covid-19 outbreak.

Cambridge will review the decision if advice on social distancing changes

Now how is the advice on social distancing going to change??

Crunch time will be the final date for accepting loan money's.

Intelligent young people will be thinking very hard about a trigger happy UK government and the next few years.

I don't know what the f is going on any more, just watching Borish and Keir Starmer  ... what the hell are they talking about?
Back to the death rate charts, well through Europe they are tending towards nothing ... few more weeks and it's gone.

The virus is doing the UK politicians a favour ... you could not imagine more idiocy.

What's really going on ... I have the sense that in the Left wing dominated industries there has been a campaign to not help the Government.  Where the f is the PPE and Ventilators they ordered (sorry not been keeping up with the news) ... and why didn't they ring fence the nursing homes ... etc...    This is just the Government's fault.  What about the civil service, aren't they doing procurement ?  It's not Bojo's job to call round suppliers.

It's just mental.

Now they are yapping on about testing and testing and fk knows what ... it's just empty words bouncing around empty heads.

Even the Coronavirus is embarrassed about all this, difficult to keep kicking someone when they are down.

Tell me about it.

I'm relieved that my daughter is grown up & has flown the nest, and my son is just coming to the end of his level 3 BTec. I've battled with their schools over the years, because they have tried to adopt the stance (under direction of the Gov, I presume) that they are the ultimate authority regarding your children. They have the insolence to try and talk down to you, if you let it go uunchecked. I've put them straight repeatedly, when they try dictating or cross-examining you if they're off sick etc. I always gave them hell and went over the top with indignation, pointing out that I would be the one to make judgments and decisions, not them, because if you give them an inch, they take a mile.

I was shocked recently to read somewhere of plans to 'teach' 11 year olds about lesbian and gay sex, transgenderism etc etc. What the actual frick?!? I'd have been on the school doorstep, demanding to know if they'd accidentally missed bestiality off their itinerary, and bellowing in faces. Things are going from bad to profoundly twisted in schools, and the latest plans fill me with total dread for the youngsters.

That will be fun as the last lockdown was.   Now don't tell me, but the splendid idea of COVID lockdown rollovers comes from a Gates Foundation funded scientist or organisation.

Also what a shocker, a picture of a London rozzer with a face mask, which is rare as winning the main prize in the Lotto.

Unfortunately come mid June data releases it'll look more like a "boomerang graph" as the fall out of government decision making rolls in.

I think that this will be the time when the first Brexit Delay (Cancellation) overtures are seriously made to the general public. There may well be a few subtle suggestions before then. :classic_wink:

Mass media - Sheeple! Are you there sheeple?

Sheeple - Yes, mass media.

Mass media - Well, do you remember when we proudly told you that we left the E.U. back on 31st January?

Sheeple - Yes, mass media.

Mass media - Well, although we didn't bang on about it at the time, it is actually the case that nothing really changed.

Sheeple - What on earth are you going on about mass media?! We left!

Mass media - Yes, but yes means no really. We just need a quick squiggle, of Bojo The Clown's pen, and it is all as we were.

And I bet if you look into it, deaths from other causes, which usually number in the hundreds or thousands per month normally, were down over 90% march through present day. Covid doesn't just have nearly 50 symptoms, this beast is so powerful it sucks up other diseases and makes them disappear.

If one asks the right questions, then one can always penetrate through the thickest of bullshit. At the moment they are trying to spin 50,000 plus excess deaths, lockdown deaths in reality, as being nigh on 40,000 Coronavirus deaths.

Today, they actually said that it had been deemed 'scientifically safe'. Ha ha ha.

I still see some people paralyzed by fear but in my corner of Wales today lots of people have been out in this glorious weather on beaches, the seafront and in their gardens having a few drinks and talking to people, not a mask or gloves in sight. Glorious to see many not giving a shit about this scamdemic. I was walking home and finally saw one person in a mask and he was drunk as hell. He seemed to hyperventilate and then fell over while in one of those Nazi queues outside the shop. So not only do those masks have fuck all effectiveness against "Covid" they don't work very well with being shit faced either.
