I learnt my lessons in the UK anti-capitalist 'era'. It didn't take me much thinking to realise that the demo's were ineffective - fucking drums and face paints - that was the shits idea.

 

There's no-one breaking out of the 'protest, peacefully if possible but shout at the nasty policemen' mentality to - Spread the protests out. Fuck London, do it in your own town. Show them that they can't deploy anywhere near enough police to contain real dissent. How many of the police in the last protest were from outside town - on overtime?

I felt this way as far back as April 2020. Like many, I could see what was happening and was already worn out with it all. 

 

It was wonderfully sunny for a straight couple of weeks and so I sat in the garden every day, soaking up vitamin D, observing non human life just getting on with their callings without fuss. A carpenter bee would visit every day, a throstle would be scurrying about the pine needles at the same time every day.

The meteor I saw was far more impressive in the flesh (as if right in front of me) and I knew it was travelling at over 40 miles per second. My camera was pointing to the right area of the sky and was captured within seconds of setting up. It felt like a gift and whenever I look at the image or see my first carpenter bee of the year (as I did last week) I am happy. 

 

Observing and experiencing the clockwork of creation - from carpenter bees to celestial events - takes my focus away from the selfishness and stupidity of man.

How could John have known then about what we are witnessing today?

I reckon the book of Revelation was written specifically for our generation as a great warning for us all, as it is only now we can begin to unravel it's mysteries.

I think there are many possible explanations as to the foresight.

 

The other bible story that comes to mind is adam and eve in the decision to take the apple.

 

In both stories man is presented with a decision to basically sell thyself to the devil....however the devil is represented by you.

 

I think there is no doubt, that we are being presented with a similar modern day version of these questions - just we can replace the faces of demons with those of politicians

Waving homemade cardboards placards and getting kettled in to an area to be controlled by the police isn't going to change anything. There are pied pipers controlling these protests.

 

Turning up and targeting the perpetrators would be better, BBC, Sky studios, Imperial College. People must know where the likes of Neil Ferguson live?

I agree. Politicians aren't listening and the few who agree are outnumbered

Confrontations with police is old hat and has NEVER won out. Historically or institutionally.

Like they said on UK column last week, they are telling the truth, it is the last lockdown.

 

It's a classic lie, though, wrapped up in a truth. (As Brian basically said).

 

This is the last lockdown because they never intend for us to come fully out of lockdown.

 

There will always be some form of control in place.

 

You can do X, Y or Z, sure, provided that you fulfil A, B and C criteria. So no actual normal freedom.
