Though I was thinking that they dont want to cause an uncontrollable stampede if they do spook the herd with an aggressive daily approach as Ziggy Sawdust commented to which Mac replied. Whether that is because they are practicing the art of war and keeping the prize intact or unwilling to destroy us completely or do not have the capability (which I estimate they do have) or a combination of that mentioned or some other factors i.e. if aggression is too overt or obvious then those in their employ would revolt.
