The two strands here are firstly teachers are above average intelligence and see the need when offering a broader range of subjects at A level such as politics, media studies or social science courses by adding extra with units on the use of language in the general English courses to support them. This fine tuning has obviously failed as regards many children during the lockdown and sports or other practical subjects have nearly gone bye bye completely. The second is for a system to self perpetuate itself it needs to educate sufficient young people into it and obviously private schools are where such future candidates are to be found.
