skitzorat
I’m Coming Out Of The ‘Conspiracy Closet’ IN BRIEF The Facts: A growing number of us don't believe the world is run the way we’ve been told by mainstream media and in school. However, it is often challenging to open up to family and friends about our views for fear of being ridiculed, and even exiled. Reflect On: Why are some of us so scared to speak up? Is it possible to say what we believe without damaging our reputations and relationships? We must not only think about what information we share, but that we share it with humility and an open heart. https://www.collective-evolution.com/2018/10/08/coming-out-of-the-conspiracy-closet/

Macnamara
5 hours ago, mathewtwatson said: I mean i want a home with more land to be self sufficient, and turn off more or less completely, i get this is hypocritical. I got to a stage in my life where i felt that all the money was going out of my account as fast as it was going in and that i had no control over things. I realised that the hooks that the system had in me were contracts and debt I set about systematically closing down things i didn't need eg subscriptions, direct debits, standing orders and so on. I sold all my stuff i didn't need or gave it away. So many things had pissed me off. Remember the whole scam with banks creating overdraft charges and sometimes you'd contact the bank and they'd say 'oh sorry that was an error' and then they'd repay you the money? That all went to court and banks had to stop charging people so much. Funny how the errors were never in your favour! I was always combatative and would push back but you can imagine little old ladies or elderly men now knowing what's going on in their bank accounts and just being ripped off. Then i got a call from a phone company and they asked me if i wanted to extend my contract to an 18 months one. I said categorically 'no' i did not want to do that. Then i got a letter through the post saying 'thankyou for extending your phone contract to 18 months'! I rang them up and got it cancelled and in fact cancelled my contract altogether, switched provider and went pay as you go which obviously works out more expensive if you use your mobile for calls a lot but i decided i was willing to pay more in order to regain control and to make a protest. I got so angry at my bank i closed my bank account and left them telling the manager that i 'hoped their rotten bank went under'. It did of course shortly after in the 2008 credit crunch. The corporations were just riding roughshod all over the public and the government was doing nothing to protect people from their sharp practices. So I paid off all my debts and got rid of most of my contracts and sought work that gave me autonomy which meant re-training. It hasn't been the easiest path through life but it has given me more freedom and it allowed me to process my anger in a healthy way and to also make a protest at the corrupt practices of the corporations There are many changes small or big that we can make and it can take YEARS to implement them in your life but i think the trick is to make a start. Start with something small and then build on that and once you start thinking along those lines you can start to notice new ways in which you can choose alternatives. I have a pay as you go dumb phone but the plus side is i don't waste time checking my phone all the time and i use it less. It's basically a glorified answer machine now. With covid 'track and trace' and with digital currencies coming in that will be used through your smart phone the smart phone is going to become the corner stone of our technocratic prison....if we allow it If you are interested in this approach check out my 'its a pirates life for me' thread in the 'solutions' part of this forum for more ideas Edited March 2, 2021 by Macnamara

I fear it will be either concentration camps or a very restricted life or both ,maybe something worse . We do need to connect and join with others who share our beliefs ,if there are powers of evil behind all this then there is also the power of good on the other side and its needs to be called upon now . Thanks mate, and I know exactly what you mean. I feel like in the last few days I have seen a bit too much now and it's not good for my mental health. A few things that didn't make any sense now make absolute sense and I kind of wish they didn't. I was always interested in so-called "conspiracy theories" but I honestly never really thought it was likely we would reach a point like this in my lifetime. Yet here we are.

Orange Alert
The slippery slope, a Digital Green Pass/Vaccine Passport/Freedom Passport to be shown if you have been vaccinated or had the pre-travel test to go to Benidorm for a piss up, however that all depends on UK infection rates and the vaccine rollout in Europe. Britain is set to be INCLUDED in the EU's vaccine passport scheme in sign of hope for summer holidays on the continent European Union said its 'vaccine passports' scheme could be opened up to UK Ursula von der Leyen announced plans for 'Digital Green Pass' to kick-start travel Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the UK was in discussions with Brussels By DAVID CHURCHILL and JAMES FRANEY FOR THE DAILY MAIL PUBLISHED: 23:09, 1 March 2021 | UPDATED: 10:42, 2 March 2021 Hopes of foreign summer holidays were given a boost last night after the European Union said its 'vaccine passports' scheme could be opened up to the UK. European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen announced plans for a so-called 'Digital Green Pass' to kick-start travel. It could come into force as early as June and the idea would be to open it up to non-EU countries to unlock the continent's beaches and resorts in time for the lucrative summer season. Last night Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the UK was in discussions with Brussels and he believed the plan also included facilitating travel for non-vaccinated tourists who can show proof of a recent negative test. It came as Spain revealed it has opened side-talks with British officials and Greece said its proposal with the UK included welcoming non-vaccinated tourists who can show proof of a negative test. Several EU countries have been calling for a relaxation of travel restrictions to boost their Covid-ravaged economies. Announcing the measures yesterday, Mrs von der Leyen said the 'vaccine passports' scheme would aim to open up travel within the bloc first, raising the prospect of Europeans booking up hotels and resorts before Britons get the chance to join it. She said: 'The Digital Green Pass should facilitate Europeans' lives. The aim is to gradually enable them to move safely in the EU or abroad for work or tourism.' But crucially, her chief spokesman added: 'We're of the view that in collaboration with the World Health Organisation, there should be a way to scale this up globally.' A source close to the European Commission chief said Britons were 'always welcome', adding: 'As long as you meet all of the conditions and standards.' It is understood the number of Covid infections in Britain will have to continue falling before the scheme is extended to the UK, but the comments will offer a glimmer of hope to lockdown-weary Britons desperate for a break abroad. Boris Johnson's spokesman said: 'The Department for Transport will work and speak to countries across the world in terms of how they may look to introduce passports.' And at last night's Downing Street press briefing, Mr Hancock said: 'We are working with international partners. The EU is part of those discussions, as are several other countries around the world, and it's obviously important work. 'In a sense, this already exists because you need to have a test before you can travel to the UK and, as far as I understand it from the details set out today, the EU proposal is that certification includes both whether you've had the vaccine and also whether you've recently had a test for those who can't get vaccinated yet. 'Therefore it's something that we're working with them and others on and it matters that we get the details of this right for international travel.' However, England's deputy chief medical officer Professor Jonathan Van-Tam urged caution, saying there is still 'great uncertainty' over the prospects for foreign holidays this summer. He said Europe's slow rollout of the vaccine could scupper hopes of holidays there, adding: 'We are still in a zone of great uncertainty about what the virus will do next. On top of that, many of the vaccination programmes in Europe – which is a place where we frequently go on holiday abroad – are running behind ours.' The European Commission will unveil its final proposals for its bloc-wide 'vaccine passports' scheme on March 17, with EU leaders set to discuss them at a summit in Brussels a week later. The timing coincides with Britain's own roadmap for easing travel restrictions, with a taskforce led by the Department for Transport set to report to the Prime Minister on April 12 about when international travel could re-start. Under the roadmap it can be no earlier than May 17. Spain, where 18 million Britons holidayed every year before the pandemic, yesterday seized on Mrs von der Leyen's announcement, with tourism minister Maria Reyes Maroto calling on Brussels to accelerate the plans. She urged Eurocrats to avoid 'prohibiting the movement of travellers within the internal market and also with third countries', in a thinly veiled call for British holidaymakers to be allowed to join the passports scheme. Pedro Siza Vieira, Portugal's economy minister, said it was 'important' for EU countries to pile pressure on Brussels to reopen travel. But Belgium said it did not like the passport plans because it could lead to discrimination. Foreign minister Sophie Wilmes said: 'For Belgium, there is no question of linking vaccination to the freedom of movement around Europe.' Expectations are similar for UK government guidance on physical distancing, with most anticipating that 2 metre or “1 metre-plus” measures will remain until 2022 or later. It will stop being legally mandated at some point, but I think there will be a permanent culture change Physical contact with people outside the immediate family is anticipated to take time. While the majority of respondents said they personally expect to invite relatives and friends into their home towards the end of the year, 28 people said they don’t anticipate hugging or shaking hands with someone outside their support bubble until 2022 or later. And, like changing attitudes on face masks, cultural norms may alter our physical greetings for good. “I think hugs and handshakes will be reduced so significantly that they may not be the norm any more,” says Deji Oloko, also at LSHTM. https://www.newscientist.com/article/2268030-face-masks-needed-in-the-uk-until-2022-says-poll-of-disease-experts/ Disclaimer: I realise these "polls" of "experts" are sh!t.
