Today I got a call from my doctors to arrange appointments for blood tests and an asthma clinic. I asked the receptionist if I was required to wear a mask. She replied to not use one I need a lanyard. To which I replied that government advice clearly states that this is in no way mandatory. Also that I have respiratory problem which is why you have called me, so clearly the doctor would be aware of my mask issues. have you got a visor the? No I don’t and if I coughed it would just pass outside the visor I told her. She said that she would have to discuss with the practise manager about me coming in without a mask. Clearly having a lanyard makes it ok to go in without a mask. Eventually got back to me to say that I could not have any appointments for any reason until all staff have received both vaccines. Didn’t find it important whether I had the vaccine for my safety first as well. obviously not taking the vaccine anyway. But have effectively been struck off the doctors list for appointments. Pathetic but entirely expected. I thought that might happen at the GP as similar happened to me when contacting a private clinic. I can't believe they have done almost 12 months without doing scheduled surgeries.
