This topic is for all general discussion regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic. There are of course numerous other related topics for discussing specific aspects of this pandemic in more detail. And there are other parts of this forum for more 'off-topic' discussions.

Just being realistic here but I know its a lot harder to take legal action for things like slander / libel / defamation in the UK than it is in the US

The UK press are just brutal savages who print the most outrageous bullshit and consistently get away with it

In the US they get pulled up more.often these days but they are still at it

Its like they have a bottomless pit of money to burn and keep going

I mean lets be honest who even buys a newspaper anymore really and how.many people.subscribe to online MSM rags ?

Its all propped up by dirty scumbags who are tied into the State

Chances of taking them to court and winning a defamation case in the UK is a tough one

But anyway Yasmina its been a pleasure having you here

I like your fire.

Well I have nothing to lose by trying so try I will!

I work in a field which requires dbs checks etc and relies heavily on reputation so having these pictures which are now all over the Daily Fail and Sun could directly impact me so I will be seeking legal advice on this, even if it does come to nothing, at least I tried.

Disagree, I have had over 20 people contact me since yday about seeing my picture on the Daily Fail, old employers, friends and family so tbh a lot of people do still see the articles they post.

Is the UK the most retarded country on the planet ?

Seems to be! The protest in Glasgow attracted about a dozen people apparently and went off like a damp squib (firework.)

Although around seventy people in Telford gathered in a park for a "rave" - flouting lockdown rules and telling police they were "sick of self-isolation".

Police bleated: "We have worked so hard (doing what?) and sacrificed so much and this group decide it doesn't apply,"

"I'm shocked that people would care so little," they added. (I'm more shocked by the loss of my rights.)

Police dispersed the group from the Donnington park at about 20:15 BST.

In other parts of Hyde Park, there were also vast numbers of people sitting out in large groups and enjoying the weather. (Anti)social distancing was completely ignored. I didn't witness any arrests, or even people being spoken to, in other areas although the police were driving around in their vans and passing on horses to make their presence known. What took place at Speaker's Corner was peaceful so there really was little difference compared to the actions of people in other areas of the park who didn't get troubled by police - the only difference being the latter were ignoring lockdown in a quiet rather than more obvious and vocal way.

Thanks for the report. You mention the police's double standards and I would be interested to know if you saw other speakers there, non anti-lockdown/freedom/5G who the police turned a blind eye to. For example, Speaker's Corner is very popular with Islamic speakers and I wonder if they were there and the police left them alone.

The drones - does anyone think holding a mirror like this in front of you if you see one would have any effect?

Laser pointers will 'blind' the camera/viewer.

They were a useful tool in HK, blocking surveillance cameras, cameras held by the OB for facial recognition, drones.

I rarely watch TV, mainly because I can rarely find anything on I wan to see, but sometimes have it on in the background while I'm sewing or using the laptop.

I am livid! I just switched on and was flicking about, failing to find anything worth even having on in the background, when I clicked on to a program on channel 4 that's part way through called 'The Truth about Amazon'.

I just happened to have it on for a moment and was immediately incensed, as it is doing exactly what we've been talking about, i.e. brainwashing in the information war.

It was slagging off the fact that you can watch things on Amazon Prime such as...and it showed a clip of Tommy Robinson, introducing him in the most derogatory way, and then Alex Jones, making out he's a dangerous nutter because he 'even' said Sandy Hook was a hoax.

To top things off, I commented that Sandy Hook was a fucking hoax as anyone with half a brain would know, at which my son said, "Oh don't start" - so we had a brief row, and he's stomped off upstairs.

Right now, I feel just really mad at the whole world.

Maybe not, but if you hold a mirror like this in front of a talking nonsense police officer, it may have an unprecedented effect on their mind and psyche. The effect they will remember.

Someone suggested the laser thing before, and while I'm not ruling it out at all, I have a feeling you can only get weak ones now because of their potential to be used for blinding pilots with!!!
