pi3141
Farage proposes sending prisoners to overseas jails Kate Whannel Role,Political reporter 21 July 2025 Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has proposed sending some prisoners overseas to serve their sentences, as part of a raft of measures he says would create around 30,000 prison places and cost £17.4bn. Speaking at an event in London, he also announced plans to build five prisons, return foreign prisoners to their country of origin, and recruit 30,000 police officers. Farage said the UK was "facing nothing short of societal collapse" and that a Reform government would halve crime in five years. Blah, blah, blah. Link - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cp3kg1vpqddo WTF? Decades ago, I used to work in the Coach and Horses, Farage's local pub, when his younger brother got married, they asked the landlord to set up a bar at the reception, I worked that event to. Rod Stewart was there with his wife Penny. My now ex, told Penny off for soaking her feet in the large water buckets we were using to chill the drinks. I liked Farage, especially as an MEP. I've stopped voting, but when Reform came along, I was tempted to vote for them. But if voting Reform means accepting an extreme justice system, I'll go back to not voting. What the hell is he thinking. The injustice this will cause is horrifying. Edited July 22 by pi3141
SoundOfSilence
It's not exactly an original idea. I'm sure Farage must have heard of Australia. As for halving crime how about not locking people up for their speech?
SimonTV
I don't think we have a law problem, we just have a problem of will. All we have to do is get people in power that are not weak and want to fix the problem. Then we can turn around any boats direct to France. Then take the existing migrants, one boat at a time and drop them off on the French beaches. What exactly is little weak Macron going to do about it. The reality is there is no will in government to fix the problem, instead they want the migrants to come over and spread their crime around the country. The other issue with trying to come up with ridiculous schemes like this is that once Labour get back in, they will use that against people on the right. So have to be careful what you change as it will always be used against you in the future. Edited July 22 by SimonTV
jack121
The prisons over here in the uk are overcrowded, they were designed to handle 50 thousand, the actual number in prison is more towards 100 thousand And there will be a lot many more in prison from the predicated uprising and protests, when the UN takes all you rights are taken away, forced multiple vaccinations every year, more lockdowns, increased taxation. Sellout sunak signed the pandemic preparedness treaty, meaning the UN can walk into this country and do whatever it wants whenever it wants - This is the real reason for more prison places

Is it that prison is harsher abroad? Or do you mean the opposite, that the prisons abroad are more lenient than ours and it's an injustice to the victims here? One factor is that the families of the prisoners would be able to visit them more easily in their own countries. In any case, I doubt if many other countries would do this for free, they'd want some payment because prison is expensive.

It's not foreign prisoners, he said he would send the worst offenders, don't think he made the distinction it would only be foreigners.
