Dr K, the Catholic Church and the police!

Brendan Kavanagh, also known as "Dr K" due to his PhD in English, is a pianist and piano teacher who runs an entertaining YouTube channel where he uploads videos mostly of himself playing the boogie-woogie style music on public pianos in various railway stations. He's very clued up on the "truther" movement, and often challenges authority.

For example, in January 2024, Dr K uploaded a video of himself playing a piano at St Pancras station. The video went viral, gaining over 10 million views. The performance was followed by a confrontation with a Chinese group, some in costume and holding flags, who objected to being filmed, claiming they represented "Chinese TV" and had image rights. Dr K defended his right to film in a public place, but tensions escalated when he reached for a small Chinese flag, prompting accusations of inappropriate contact and racism.

British Transport Police intervened and told Dr K to stop filming. One officer supported the group's request for the video’s deletion, citing commercial interests, while Dr K accused her of acting on behalf of Chinese interests and insisted on his free speech rights.

The incident sparked media coverage, with Dr K appearing on TalkTV shows to discuss free speech concerns. Later, YouTube reportedly requested he blur faces due to privacy complaints. In January 2025, YouTube removed the video for a privacy violation. In response, Dr K launched a new channel called The Pianogate Channel. Professor Eric Kaufmann criticised the Chinese group’s behaviour as an attempt to impose CCP-style censorship in the UK.

Anyhow, his latest drama involves a nameless Catholic priest, a bishop, and the police. Following is Dr K's introduction to the YouTube video below:

"Dr K and his wife got arrested at their home by the police for sending 'angry emails' about a defrocked priest who had visited their chapel after giving the impression that he was a cleric in good standing . This predator priest - who had been stripped of the clerical state due to child abuse in another country -was being allowed access to children in the UK and Ireland with the collusion of his Bishop. Dr K's angry (but definitely not threatening) emails about this safeguarding breach upset the Bishop and Predator priest. Seething with anger at being held to account, predator priest - with the support of his Bishop - went to the police and reported Dr K and his wife for 'harassment.' After a two month police investigation, all charges against Dr K and his wife were dropped due to a 'lack of evidence.' "

"We suspect Fr Fake of reporting us to the council for running an illegal cafe. He has a history of using vexatious legal claims to silence those who call him out for his shady past."

It is disgusting what is happening to the UK. The UK is becoming more and more like China.
