Thunderbutt
The little things I notice drive me nuts. I was a software engineer working on a tracking pixel 10 years ago, and we slowly lost the ability to track through cookies so we had to look for alternatives. There was the browser environment fingerprint which was useless for VPNs, and there was social media tracking. The way social media tracking works is they provide all the glue, the primary keys, for connecting you to your social media account. Through government NGOs they are, and AI is, aware of every move you make. For that purpose I am always in a VPN, and I don't mix gov NGOs and things like this in the same browser. So here we go. When I see an embedded govtube video, the gov wants me to log in, but because I don't share Google's data with this browser session, the player won't allow me to play the video. On mobile I'm not even allowed to copy the URL. Those sneaky ass bastards want me to cough up my PII to make it easier on them. I'm forced to search on y@nd3x for anything I want the know about anything anymore. It's a total pain in the ass.
