This could be a game changer in building totalitarian AI systems. 

 

Fact China has firms building AI systems to track their population. 

 

This would make that easier for every government to do that.

And given that AI "hallucinates", how do we even know that the answers it gives are correct. it might appear to solve the equation, but did it?

Yeah that is a valid point. It does seem that this would be hard to verify.  But realize China had already commissioned a AI based mass monitoring system and the scariest part is that once China perfect such systems the US buys them.
