Plane crash at South Korean airport.

The news that the black boxes both stopped recording minutes before the crash doesn't surprise me at all. This all felt a bit off from the get-go. It at least looks like the PTB were in action again.

'South Korea air crash recorders missing final four minutes.'

Sim Jai-dong, a former transport ministry accident investigator, told Reuters news agency that the loss of data from the crucial final minutes was surprising and suggested that all power, including back-up, could have been cut. Many questions remain unanswered. Investigators have been looking at the role that a bird strike or weather conditions may have played. They have also focused on why the Boeing 737-800 did not have its landing gear down when it hit the runway.

I thought the point of black boxes was they were indestructible and could be recovered to reveal data at the time of an accident/crash.

I am no expert on black boxes. I just know that there should be no excuse for them to ever stop recording. Another reason why I found this plane crash suspicious, was because it happened very soon after all of the martial law drama in Seoul. It is very probable that there is a connection.
