numnuts
The 9/11 mastermind? Yeah, right. They must have really worn him down, over his long years of captivity. He has probably realised that they will never let him off the hook. He also likely knows full well that most of the world doesn't buy the bullshit, so he isn't going to be doing himself any extra harm, by just taking any deal he can and ending his legal ordeal. He can then look to get out of Guantanamo. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0kvklv7zjyo 'The '9/11 mastermind' is set to plead guilty. Why is the US trying to stop him?' Mohammed has been held in a military prison in Guantanamo Bay since 2006. The prison was opened 23 years ago - on 11 January 2002 - during the "war on terror" that followed the 9/11 attacks, as a place to hold terror suspects and "illegal enemy combatants". Most of those held here were never charged and the military prison has faced criticism from rights groups and the United Nations over its treatment of detainees. The majority have now been repatriated or resettled in other countries. The prison currently holds 15 - the smallest number at any point in its history. All but six of them have been charged with or convicted of war crimes.
