Jenbell
So the past 5-10 years have gone by incredibly fast especially the last 5. A blink of an eye and 5 years have past and I have never felt that way before. I also hear tonns of other people saying the same thing all different ages. Have anyone else felt the same? DI briefly mentioned it in one of his latest books (can't remember which ) but he never elaborated. This is something I've been thinking about for a while and want some enlightenment depending on your beliefs Im also aware that time is an illusion and makes it even more confusing
Anti Facts Sir
Apparently it's because we're getting old. How we view our lives in the context of everything that we've experienced makes us feel like "time" is passing by much faster than it seemed to when we were younger. I dunno. Or perhaps it really has sped up. Maybe that's why I ain't looking any older despite so many years going by!

SimonTV
My view is that the more isolated and sedentary lifestyle the person experiences the quicker the perception of time moves. The more activity you fit in to your days the slower the perception of time is. When I say this to people they often say that it is the opposite, when they are realy busy they feel the time goes quickly but when they are sitting around time goes slowly. Yes, at the moment but in hindsight time is perceived differently than when you are experiencing it. 1

I find the opposite, in the winter a lot of my activity is curtailed, where with light nights I'm out and about doing things to 9/ ten oclock at night, time races by, stuck in the house from 4 o'clock till bed time it really drags Similarly, having 2 hours to do a three hour job makes the time fly by having three hours to do a 2 hour job makes it drag
Grumpy Grapes
Time flies, when you're having fun. Some animals/insects appear to have a different sense of time. Edited January 4 by Grumpy Grapes
Campion
There is more happening in the roll-out of the cult agenda recently, especially since convid, now the middle east is a frenzy of wars and they're going more mask-off. It's accelerating towards the new order, so could be why it feels like time is speeding up.

Sometimes time passes by quickly because we are always "looking forward to something". Whether that is "I can't wait until the summer", or such trivial things as anticipating a future movie/TV show release or a new store opening in a few months. Equally people forget about the 'here and now', because they allow themselves to get distracted by things that take their time up. For me, its comparable to "things seeming bigger when you were younger", well they will do because you were smaller at the time!
