The universe is a recycling centre

Recommended Posts

A basic science principle backs up my belief that the energy of the universe is recycled karma, in a bid by its' Creator to reduce its' karma, if not eliminate it.

"The law of conservation of energy states that the total energy of an isolated system remains constant; it is said to be conserved over time."

Our universe is isolated, temporarily, like an eddy in water.

" In the case of a closed system the principle says that the total amount of energy within the system can only be changed through energy entering or leaving the system. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it can only be transformed or transferred from one form to another. For instance, chemical energy is converted to kinetic energy when a stick of dynamite explodes. If one adds up all forms of energy that were released in the explosion, such as the kinetic energy and potential energy of the pieces, as well as heat and sound, one will get the exact decrease of chemical energy in the combustion of the dynamite."

So, the only true original creation was initiated by the Creator at the Big Bang, IMO. Thereafter, everything is recycled.

I think this is symbolised by the Adam and Eve story, in which Adam and Eve discover a new way of creating that ursurps God's function as the Creator.

And in relativity theory, e = mc^2 so there's an equivalence between energy and mass, mass is converted into energy during nuclear reactions for instance so we can perhaps extend the concept of conservation of energy to conservation of the energy-mass continuum.

Then there's also entropy. Although energy/mass is conserved, entropy increases in a closed system so the constant recycling is accompanied with increased disorder eg the forms of energy degrade overall into a lower grade such as heat. Hence the so-called 'heat death' of the universe. There are pockets of localised increase in order such as development of life on Earth, but that's within an overall solar system where the Sun is slowly burning out.

As things cool (lose energy), order can still occur, such as ice crystals or the hexagonal structures at the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland - interlocking basalt columns, the result of cooling after an ancient volcanic fissure eruption.

Human creativity is another way of bringing order out of chaos.
