Did the CIA murder the Swedish Prime Minister?

Hi!

 

One of the theories about who killed the Swedish Prime Minister (see link) is that the CIA was behind it. 
Do you think that would even be possible? Or is there a code they won´t break, something like they would never kill the leader of Western European country, because of the bad press if it would leak or do you think they could actually have done it or that they would consider doing something like that in the future if they thought it could profit the USA somehow? Who would have to give the order for such a thing? Could it be done without the presidents permission?

 

The murder of the Prime Minister started a huge investigation, maybe the biggest in the world. The CIA theory is just one of many , and I kind of feel that it is far-fetched, would you agree? I also wonder if anyone here has any other theories about this. I kind of lean towards it just being some "random dude", maybe the one the police suggested (in the Netflix series). But who knows. It is also uncommon that a leader of a country is just killed by some random person, right? 

 

It is a really weird case altoghether. I have read a few books about it and there are some many possibly solutions for it.
