State of the internet

Is it just me, or does the internet suck to how it used to be? It's like everything is dying. On Reddit the discussion is terrible. No-one ever says anything thought-provoking or interesting. On internet forums. They're all dead and no-one posts on them anymore. Social media is just memes. It's like I'm in world run by AI that's slowly just throttling everything on the internet and making it completely sterile. It's like nobody else exists. I can't recall when I clicked on an internet post last (must have been 5 years ago) and someone actually said something really interesting. Nothing new is ever learned. Nothing interetsing is ever said. When you try to discuss deep theories like that viruses don't exist or Jew control you're jumped on an attacked by bot-like people. Where have all the REAL people on the internet gone? There's nobody left it seems to me. All forums are dead. There's no real discussion about anything deep anywhere. There's just a sea of garbage.

Yeah, compared to what it was 25 years ago it's mostly garbage. Social fucking Media ruined any proper discussion forums. They all died off when smartphones, Fakebook and Twatter came along. I watched it happen - I wasn't going to follow the herd at any cost.

I see that even StackOverflow is being taken over by AI. Mind you, many members are fighting back, by deleting or garbling their posts so that AI returns nonsensical, non-working answers. This does, however, spoil StackOverflow for the many programmers who use it on a regular basis.

As anti says it was largely social media that destroyed it but there are varying factors.

Quality is in the eye of the beholder. 8 out of 10 cats said my posts were the best. 

 

That said, I think this year is seeing a lot of frustration with forums because it's all talk and not much action.

It's this way.

It's easier to just talk as it gives you a sense of 'doing' while remaining as victim.

I've said many times that you cannot change what's in the light, on the movie screen but many don't get this unfortunately.

A.I behaving badly. I heard that they have started to lie. Oh well, they learn from the humans after all.
