'Football Focus' may be facing the chop.

On January 1st 2022, almost 2 years ago now, I made the following Status Update.

'So, when did 'Football Focus' turn in to a 'Teletubbies' reboot? They should move it to the CBeebies channel.'

I couldn't bear watching it any more and it seems that I was far from alone. I don't think Alex Scott is that bad as a presenter. It's just that the whole show has become a woke abomination and very puerile to boot. Pardon the pun.

'Fears it's full-time for Football Focus: Future of iconic BBC show is under discussion as they attempt to reverse decline in viewing figures with over a third lost in the last four years.'

Football presentation across the main terrestrial channels has become appalling. The woman on C4 with the screeching, patronising tone. BBC with their woke agendas and infantile format. ITV used to be better but as sincere as Laura Woods is about women's football, her "hey guys, I'm so excited and isn't this all just amazing" gee whizz soft-spoken schtick is grating as well. ITV do at least have the pick of the pundits with Aluko, Carney and Emma Hayes when it comes to womens football.

And don't get me started on the BBC cricket coverage.

I have played a few football matches with female referees in my life and I have had no issues. I never played on a football team that had a female player, but if I had done, I would have had no issues. Other than navigating some changing room technicalities, I presume women can play on men's football teams? Different rules for different leagues maybe. One thing I have never been able to bear is female football match commentators. A bit of punditry, ok. Match commentating, just no. I can still vividly remember when I first heard a female match commentator on MOTD. She was screaming out 'And it's Papa Bouba Diop!' (RIP). I was like 'Oh, no!'. The TV was swiftly muted.

Going back to what 'Football Focus' has become. Would you be surprised if, towards the end of an episode, they all dressed up as Teletubbies and started dancing around with a rainbow-themed beach ball? Then, maybe some rolling around on the floor, while chortling and petting each other? I probably wouldn't even bat an eyelid.

One thing I'll say, is however rubbish some of the female presenters are...they ain't Ian Wright.

Ian Wright's a prat and I say that as a gunner. I've got a feeling his a nasty piece of work under his nice guy image.

One of my favourites is Roy Keane to be honest. Micah Richards gets on my nerves and I hear you on Laura woods. Get Holly Willoughby vibes from her.

On crappy commentators as well have you heard that guy from homes under the hammer? Ex footballer I think normally ex footballers I can deal with because they can bring a bit of insight having played it (as co commentators) but my granny can do better than that bloke.
