In 1966, James Paul McCartney was killed in a car crash and replaced with a double; a session musician by the name William Shears Campbell. (aka Billy Shears) It was and still remains the biggest kept secret in music.

For anyone who doesn't yet know about this, I would very highly recommend reading the very interesting book called:
The Memoirs of Billy Shears.
image.png.6ab08b3a6a253d5fc4f675bab620b063.png

The story goes, basically the real Paul McCartney died in a car crash in 1966 and was replaced by a very talented musician called William Shepherd (Billy Shears)  (son of a very high up freemason - alistair crowley?)  Billy/the new Paul had to have loads of plastic surgery, had to learn all of the real Pauls history, speak Liverpudlian, the real Pauls family were aware of all this, and accepted him, and many other famous musicians also knew of this, including the rolling stones, the WHO and elton john,  Billy Shears had to completely rethink his music playing style - as the original paul played left-handed?
John Lennon wanted none of it but in the end decided to play along, after much turmoil within the band members, and many problems intergrating within them, Billy Shears became the leader and main songwriter of the band, and completed his (& the Beatles) album called
Sgt Peppers Lonely Heartclub band.
I've included a couple of interactions between me, @sock muppet and @Edgewood over on the russia/Ukraine thread, feel free to add any knowledge or opinions you have.

Never heard of Viv Stanshall's real name being William Shears..... I don't think that's right.

Poor bloke ended up dying in a house fire in Muswell Hill....

He also appeared in Magical Mystery Tour....... was a classic English eccentric.. who ended up as a hardened alcoholic.. all very sad..... he also famously wrote and narrated Sir Henry at Rawlinson's end which was popularised by John Peel.

It's a right mindjob all this isn't it?
You're right - the REAL Viv Standshall did die in a house fire.

This person - who was the 'walkabout' real life Viv Standshall was just the humdrum day to day Viv Standshall. Basically a double/or a stand-in, he could have been bumped off - or maybe he now has a new life in Israel? 😉

The 'performer' of the act Viv Standshall' played by William Sherpherd of the Bonzo band - also at the same time - playing as 'Paul McCartney' of the Beatles.  Was/is alive and well.

I was not aware of this angle until now.

Which would explain the inclusion of Aleister Crowley on the album cover.

So the stand in actually had talent as well, the mind boggles indeed, and i can almost see another interpretation of all this, and my head just exploded🤯

It's ok Edgewood, no offence mate..👍
I can see why you said that (why do I choose to believe any of this?)

I would say that the way I have presented this information may indeed illustrate that I do believe it all.
I don't.

I don't believe it all, however, it has left me plenty to think about and plenty of the information I read in this book (the memiors of billy shears) has been 'filed away - for now' in the  'weighing scales' of possibility and truth within my own mind (& heart)
(I know that sounds corny but things like this - will never be proved.    So for now - the case of Billy Shears goes into that slot - so to speak.

But, having read the book - which is simply outstanding and (after initially nearly throwing it in the bin at the beginning of reading the first 50 pages or so) I perservered and carried on reading it, it's simply astounding the amount of info and detail that is included.

So, no, I don't choose to believe it, but nor do I disbelieve it.

Grab a copy of the book for yourself it's a long read but seriously eye opening.  Many many references to freemasonary, satanism, the establishment, and very relevant to the situation the world has found itself in right now (make sure you get the latest version or at least the nine after 9-09 edition.

forgot to say, I know I'm not the only one, I always felt there was something very iffy about McCartney right from a young age, and then I read this book.
Sooooo intersting...  & very possibly 100% true....

Thanks sfb, I must get a copy.👍

Doesn't Macca play the "er I don't remember anything cos of all the drugs, yeah" line when asked about stuff from before the "switch"?

And while the "fake" Paul clearly has musical talent, would the pre-67 Paul have written quite so much humdrum tosh?

Heather Mills said she found out "the truth" about him. Whatever that meant.

what material difference would it make to your life if it turned out some guy had stood in for paul mccartney for the last few decades?

what would actually change in your life? because nothing would change in mine

It would for example have no baring on the incoming food shortages nor on the great reset. I'm not sure i would even click on the headline

OK, so here's another angle on the story. If indeed JPM did die, then whoever took over from him had a hell of a lot to learn, not least the accent. There are very few non-Scousers who can get the accent right and even fewer who know proper Scouse slang. And reconstructive surgey in 1966 - really?

There would surely have been a gap between the 'death' of McCartney and the reappearnce of his subsitute, unless the car crash was planned, Lady Di style. I haven't read the book, nor have I any intention of putting money into the pockets of the author. The fact that Mr Unharriet is American and lives in Utah immeditaely raises my suspicions. Writing a book based on the premise that JPM died and was replaced by a lookilikey is a very easy way of making money. It's like the ghost-hunting programmes they do on the TV. They're always in America and dramatised to a ridiculous degree, with lots of special effects, to fit the narrative rather than to produce a convincing study.

Anyway, I digress. I was at school with JPM and I have met him a number of times since. Our school had a special vocabulary all it's own, which no-one outside the school would understand, and on one occasion around the time when it was about to become LIPA, we got to chatting about schooldays. If that's not the real JPM, then whoever it is deserves an Oscar and could certainly outdo Leslie Welch. (For younger members, there is a brief insertion on Wiki about him).

Forum members on here tend to believe what they want to believe, and that's their inalienable right. However, we should always consider an alternative point of view, especially when there is useful evidence to back it up.

If I were to guess, the story you posted is accurate, except I don't believe Paul died in a car crash. I think he left the band and was replaced by Bill Spears for what ever reason and then went quiet, ultimately becoming the custodian of his own childhood house. To me, the two tell tail signs are his ears, and height.

Then there's the movie:

Paul McCartney Really Is Dead: The Last Testament of George Harrison?

https://tubitv.com/movies/566345/paul-mccartney-really-is-dead-the-last-testament-of-george-harrison

This movie also said PM died in a car crash, but gives details about MI 6 involvement, their "handler" Maxwell, why Lennon was killed, etc.
