Be like a Disciple of Discipline that ENABLES Freedom/ Transformation.... Make a life Worth Living with MOTIVATIONAL Wisdom at your side!

Recommended Posts

Being or becoming like the name suggests, would be to say become like a Disciple of Discipline.... The first word of course derives from that second word or vice versa 🙂....
The point is anyway being Disciplined does NOT have to make you a slave, moreover it makes you FREE to be you as Ollie Ollerton says,, but YES where EFFORT is required as in anyone's life in some way!....

However, rather than talk of person I know less well (Ollie only found him today in fact, maybe I'll ink some of his stuff as I learn more of what he has to say), but the person in my next paragraph I know better though having watched more of his videos and just as one quick example says around keeping active with your life to aid things like what this thread is about, with for instance keeping a watch on your MOTIVATION ~ which a good part of that aim to KEEP YOU MOVING and better at PEACE and SELF MASTERY all encompassed!!

On the other hand...... Of that Master I speak as per the videos I watch in their own rite.... One simple thing from his Kung Fu Odyssey let's call it, I recount him say is very simply this:-
As Shaolin Master Shi Heng Yi has said in simple recognition of a key basic in one of his videos that I follow consistently,, he simply says,, don't be just a "lye on the beach body and do nothing person",, DO SOMETHING, and then give yourself time to relax AFTER you have DONE SOMETHING..... Always better to have earnt a thing what you will then better enjoy and appreciate after you have put in some Work and/or Discipline! Thereby creating the cycle of a healthy motivation to have good discipline and know why you are doing it... and making you stronger & fitter!!

Momento Mori. [as the Stoics say]... The time is now, and preferably not just before your fire is about to go out, and you are too weak or too old to reconstitute your life.... So, make provision anyhow you can NOW, and not just before your death, or before your have lost your spark or your passion!.... Be present.....Be at Peace, Be at One, with whatever your life mission is, by having THE DISCIPLINE that enables you to shine and to keep growing in a way which works for you!.... Like for example take how I saw in this sub-forum of Self Development I saw in the content of a post by Mr H, mentioning thoughts around FREE ASSOCIATION which could assist here on occasions to help keep an open mind for one thing, but above all that, remember to MEDITATE on what is central to your life, what matters most to you, and therefore know what you really want out of life, before allowing an endless stream of internal thought to distract you or an endless stream of multi-control-media. HENCE Meditation is never a bad practice when you know its worth and why then you realize you wish to do it, is for FOCUS & CLARITY and to help stop procrastinating and being distracted by things which would otherwise detract and take the shine off your realization of the thing you wish to put into practice.....

SO I SAY for the Purpose of this thread AND for your own life Purpose:-
~~ Make a life Worth Living with MOTIVATIONAL Wisdom at your side!

Consider starting your journey on to better decision making and purpose with use of an open-minded approach to how you may start that journey.... For example take a look at this broadly motivational video below (EXCEPT PLEASE just forget how success in it seems to be defined by a Red Ferrari, however~ apart from that it suits me okay as a starter in making this thread, aside or as well as any feed of wisdom you can surely appreciate as a follower of Master Shi Heng Yi.... Btw, another Monk entirely (different person) wrote a book around this premise that having bought a Ferrari, and yet having the wisdoms of a monk turned the guy into selling his Ferrari and other needless assets....https://pdfroom.com/books/the-man-who-sold-his-ferrari/Oor5WnwP2qD That man's name is Robin S. Sharma.

Now, okay, you say hmmmmm,, this as you see is not one of his videos, but I know Master Shi (nor his book^), but by a comment Master Shi made I remember I know he acknowledges SOME motivational videos are good!.... I would agree, especially as this video as follows pulled my attention by how it reads GO MONK MODE, I love that,  since Master Shi Heng Yi of the Shaolin Tradition, whilst not necessarily a monk by the strictest nature, is DEFINITELY true by all other necessary & associative credible means true to Shaolin in his example, that the man wishes for himself and that's fine. I too love the Shaolin and the KungFu and all of that...

However ~ the individual can totally decide for his or herself, To be a Monk or Not is not of such importance....///= unless the individual chooses it to be in terms of aiming for extra special attention on something, like a guru would do as master on a subject =///

It is however you want to define it in essence and STILL you can observe the discipline aspect as the most fundamental key, and whatever you take on board as being useful in your own situation.... But anyhow to borrow such ideas- (such as how any Monk dedicates his life) - I certainly think carries a lot of insightful and by nature of the universe, what brings out is sometimes deep thought inspiration also as you would expect!

So to call ourselves a monk or not, that is not so important, what matters is to reflect on what discipline means to you.... How you take yourself forward with the right attitude.... For example Attitude of Gratitude is a great one, but it doesn't mean you are lessening your life's ambition by this Mantra, in fact by understanding HOW IT IS Less is More, the whole world takes on a different meaning, and where GREED and I WANT MORE are not the only social comparatives available to us.....

Yes take a hard look at yourself if you feel the need and see what comes up as you look in the mirror.... If you like what you see, all well and good, if not,, take a step back from what you are perhaps misguidedly doing as the case maybe, and create yourself some formulation based around whatever, or a plan of motivation just simply to get the heart inspired....

What else to 'exercise' is to sometimes Embrace Change now & again, but whilst on this journey, please,I urge people not to get too in the mindset that is all consuming by anything comprising too much of insipid desire or "I want"...... <--Overcoming that, THAT is the way to control yourself that is one of the most powerful ways!.... but I think as we all know the TIMES FOR CHANGE bit can become very influential by how much of life we get to experience, as little comes without change or without exploring outside our bubble, etc....

Because in the end what are is enough as long as you maintain good motivation and self respect and make whatever growth you need to be able to define by yourself what that means TO YOU!......

That by your own aspect at least for your bit would seem to be all that matters.....BUT ALSO let me finish please this inspiration by LOOSELY quoting again something from Master Shi Heng Yi >>> (after the first line, I have adapted and expanded somewhat the quote to make the statement more rounded by my own personal contribution**.... A key*word* here you notice !! >>)

In this life, you will not be remembered for your Personal Achievements, it is more important in the long run at least to consider you will better be remembered by Your Contributions  to others in value of life as a whole (at least where the holistic/altruistic value is broadened out let's put it that way PLUS at the same time where more people take responsible for themselves where possible, but also in community spirit or belonging to something) ....... Yet.... Yes indeed true also to help others, you need to be strong yourself, but as long as we believe in a world where more people can think in those terms, maybe giving a little of ourselves will be the butterfly effort to compliment any efforts, and achievements we personally may be on the make for......

The following NOT a Master Shi Heng Yi video ~ but of it's own calibre/authorship..... Enjoy all the same! =) I will add more MOTIVATIONAL VIDEOS and others may do likewise..... I just ask keep this as authentic as you can and only share (if you can) **quality motivations** to help bring us all the best in reaching out and reaching goals or whatever YOU bring to life most crucially when it comes to being authentic .....

I think as we all know the TIMES FOR CHANGE bit can become very influential (for the better prospects, better health, prosperity, finance, or life experiences, or simple change of scenery) by how much of life we get to experience, or find positive opportunity in ETC, as little comes without change or without exploring outside our bubble, etc....

but as long as we believe in a world where more people can think in those terms, maybe giving a little of ourselves will be the BUTTERFLY effort / EFFECT, to compliment any efforts, and achievements we personally may be on the make for......

I don't believe any of us will be remembered after a couple of generations have passed. We are just not that important.

For instance, both of my parents are now dead. I remember them. My daughter will remember them (although my Mam died when my daughter was only 4 years old). My granddaughters will remember only my Dad, who died recently in January, but the point I am making is who will remember them after that?

We are all steeped in our own importance but in reality this is just a fleeting thing, gone in the blink of an eye, as time passes by relentlessly.

Forget about making a lasting impression and just live life to the full, it can end at any time.

Yes we are all steeped in our self importance for a good portion of our life, it's how we are brought up in the competitive world, but contrary to this ego mentality, what I like about Master Shi Heng Yi, he doesn't self promote in such as way, and is ego-less, AND has definitely made a lasting impression on me!
👍

but he also makes a point of saying, it's not about "personalities" when he gets viewed in his interviews, and only wishes to focus on passing on THE generations old message from the Shaolin Tradition, and because he delivers this message with a lot of dignity, and sincerity and what he knows works well for the image (or rather understanding) of Kung Fu, that is worth a lot !!  Not least as it cultivates a mindset where life can be viewed in a new perspective than what many in the West would ordinarily know of, or spare a thought for.

I realize we can't be all things to all people, it would be exxxhausting, I am not suggesting that....

ETA: Sorry for your loss, condolences about your parents!.... Your mom in particular as it seems she died real young. 🙏
