Mr Crabtree
22 minutes ago, Grumpy Owl said: Because that is exactly what is happening! There is a slow invasion taking place on the south-east coast, with thousands of fighting age men (very few in the way of women or children) swarming across France and the rest of Europe, and NOBODY has any real desire to stop this happening, in fact there are groups facilitating this, and our own government is being far too soft by letting them in and putting them up in fancy hotels. Yes, the language used might 'remind' her of pre-war Nazis, but the situation is completely different. And that is the same mistake that Mr Lineker made. Genuine refugees and asylum-seekers would have found refuge or sought asylum in the first 'safe' country that they came to. Why travel across Europe - via a multitude of 'safe' countries - unless you're an 'economic migrant'? Also it was reported earlier this year that the majority of people arriving on boats from across the Channel were actually Albanians, from a country that is NOT a war-zone. I don't like using these labels as such, but the 'woke leftists' are just doing what Orwell described in '1984' with regards to 'newspeak', alter the language, make people think about what they are saying, and word it in a way so as not to 'offend' people. In the same way that they're trying to remove the words "illegal immigrant" from the vocabulary, to be replaced with some nonsense term like "displaced person". Anyone on here read 'The Camp Of The Saints' by Jean Raspail written in 1973 and published in English in 1975? Basically it's about the invasion of France by 'asylum seekers' from the Indian subcontinent and other Countries overrunning the West. Frightening stuff with more than a vein of truth! Big difference. I can remember when I was a kid, there was a Polish family and a Hungarian family living close by. They were called displaced persons (DPs) because their own lands had been occupied by the Soviets and they had no home. They were displaced. An illegal immigrant - to the best of my knowledge - is someone after the economic benefits of living in another country and has entered that country by illegal means. Call them what they are. Sorry, you're right, it was something like "undocumented migrant" rather than 'displaced', but I think you get what I meant. By changing the language or the wording, it does nothing more than 'soften' or gloss over the actual truth - in the same way that 'they' prefer paedophiles to be referred to as "minor-attracted persons". northern star
Genuine asylum seekers and refugees from war have always been welcomed here. See the recent Ukranian influx. We wouldnt have the multicultural country we have if Britain didnt welcome people in. The issue lies in the word "illegal". Are we all allowed to behave in an illegal manner now, by Gary's reckoning? This was all going on during the covid times too, when Gary was helping to close down free speech, loyal globalist puppet that he is, and there was no indication as to incomers covid status, while Brits had to quarantine and lockdown and even prepare for vaccine IDs. You cant have it both ways. Likewise Donald Trump wasnt anti-immigration, understanding its what made America. It was the illegal part he was against.

I agree with this. But I also have a nagging feeling that all this attention on illegal invaders is distracting us from a potentially much larger influx of non-natives via legalised routes. It may be that the ptb are gearing up to claim success at reducing the boat people (gaining votes at next year's election), only to increase mass immigration under the headline of labour shortages and early retirement of gen-x.

northern star
The irony is Gary's kids probably went to the same schools as Rees Mogg's, Suella's, Rishi's etc. He's in the same world, he is the establishment.
Observations
GB News guest; " Can we talk about your links to Boris Johnson " Jacob Rhys Mogg; The issue is the funding and the tax on tv. If we didn't ( have that ) we would have a much freer media

Hmm, I doubt it. Not nearly posh enough. His father had a market stall and one of his kids is a "model". Terribly non-u

Move on. football without pundits is great , when I go to see my local football team all I can hear is the crowd cheering, singing, banging drums , swearing and shouting, imagine if some arsehole pundit started talking through the speaker doing a running commentary it would ruin the atmosphere, leave the commentary to radio

northern star
The irony is, during Covid, him and his ilk would have gladly welcomed vaccine passports and digital ID cards and seen people who refused the vaccines hoiked off to "education camps". They were all for it I seem to remember. And also all very keen to censor any opposing voices and shut down free speech against anything they didnt agree with. Very 1930s Germany.

Makes me want to puke.
