I knew an Aussie girl in Earl's Court who spoke to the single Diana regularly as they were neighbours and, apparently, Diana would speak like a 14 year old when she was 17 or 18. She hung out with a group of friends whose raison d'etre was to bag a rich or titled husband. They weren't averse to dating a stockbroker they'd meet at the Admiral Codrington, but they weren't husband material. Boy did her bubble get burst in short order.
