Useyournous
But is it turnips or swedes we should eat cos they both identified as turnips. Notice I call them they, which is very trendy of me. itsnotallrightjack
From doing some reading about the first world war, this Coffey Turnip thing has some sinister undertones. I didn't know until tonight that there was mass starvation in mainland Europe due to failed harvests and people were forced to eat--yes you guessed right- turnips to survive. Turnips were predominantly animal feed at this time. The Germans even made a revolting "bread" out of it. http://www.thedefinitearticle.org/cuisine/dont-mention-the-war-but-lets-talk-about-the-food It tasted as disgusting as it looks. I wonder if Coffey is aware of the unfortunate connotations turnips have. Can't say I am a fan of them. I never buy them or eat them. They smell unpleasant. Swedes and parsnips I do like.

Artie Fufkin
I tend to not believe anything without seeing with my own eyes, Social and Corporate media..not a chance. The propaganda is still amusing though, good for the soul is a good chuckle!
