Velma Posted February 25, 2023 Share Posted February 25, 2023 We are being primed on many levels for another world war, red lines are being drawn, to create a flashpoint between the opposing ‘blocs’ which, once crossed, will justify military retaliation. The Ukraine war is conditioning us to make “sacrifices” for the war effort, by saving energy and food rationing. Old WWII propaganda movies dominate the airwaves, with scenes of ‘heroism.’ Recruitment adverts for the armed forces are increasing, saying you too can be a ‘hero’ (cannon fodder) and the idea of mandatory military service in the UK has already been introduced. The politicians, without dissent, praise the bravery and stoicism of Ukrainians under fire. They did not say that about Afghans, Iraqis or Libyans when they were bombed by the “allies.” (That’s us!) They do not say it now, about Syrians or Palestinians who are under attack daily. International relations are fragile and humanitarian crises are increasing.
