t is not the first time former DGSE director and former ambassador Pierre Brochand has made public calls for a complete change to immigration policies while warning against France becoming poorer and possibly descending into civil war. However, hearing him doing so during a discussion with a top civil servant in the person of the director of the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII) on France Culture, a state-owned radio station that is part of the very left-wing and pro-immigration Radio France network, is something unusual in Emmanuel Macron’s France.

True, the presenter of the April 1 radio show titled “Face à l’immigration” (“Facing immigration”) was Alain Finkielkraut, a philosopher, writer, and radio presenter who is not particularly known for his political correctness, in particular on the subject of immigration.

Didier Leschi, OFII’s director, did not try to hide the true numbers about immigration like Interior Minister Générald Darmanin usually does. So, both men, Didier Leschi and former intelligence chief Pierre Brochand, were able to talk about an agreed-upon set of data regarding immigration levels: 320,000 new residence permits delivered in 2022 plus 156,000 asylum seekers and an additional number of 400,000 illegal immigrants benefiting from free medical care, plus a few hundred thousand who have not yet asked for the free migrants’ medical care scheme, which means their number is unknown. As Leschi commented during the radio show, such illegal immigrants are usually granted a residence permit after five years of illegal residence in France. This, of course, acts as a pull factor contributing to the rising wave of illegal immigrants that are now flooding Italy.

Reacting to those numbers, Brochand characterized the kind of immigration France has been experiencing for the last 50 years as “endured” and not chosen, “massive,” “on the rise,” “concentrated in isolated clusters,” “creating a snowball effect,” “with no historical precedence,” and “driven not by political decision-makers nor by economic players but by judges.” In addition, it is “culturally remote as it comes almost exclusively from what we used to call the Third World,” “conflictual,” “economically dysfunctional,” “costly for public finances,” “unpopular according to polls,” and “mostly irreversible.”

As a matter of fact, Brochand insisted, such massive immigration of low-qualified people from failed states has been pulling France down, making it poorer and causing a sharp degradation in the quality of its public services.

“Fifty years ago, we had the best public services in the world. We were proud and the whole world envied them. Today, they are vilified by everyone, and we complain about them. So what happened in between?

The 35-hour workweek cannot be ignored, it indeed played a role. But every year we accept 450,000 people who have not contributed a cent to the infrastructure they will use from day one. We’ve taken on board 2.6 million people in the last five years. How do you expect those people, who then become over-consumers and under-contributors, not to put unbearable pressure on public services?”

Immigration undoubtedly leads to lower salaries for the less qualified workers, and the only beneficiaries among workers are the immigrants themselves, as they see their income increase manyfold compared with what they could earn in their home countries. At the same time, the employers benefit by paying less for the work done, and the countries of origin are happy with the money transferred home by immigrant workers, which also means money is flowing out of their host country. Brochard estimates that this flow of money out of France amounts to an astounding $1 trillion since the 1970s.

Leschi himself had to acknowledge during that discussion on France Culture that there have never been so many immigrants in France, with 7 million people (out of 68 million inhabitants) who were born abroad, including 2.5 million who have since acquired citizenship.

In that respect, a recent article in Le Figaro gave more numbers based on the latest data published by the French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE): Those 7 million first-generation immigrants now account for 10.3 percent of France’s population, up from 7.4 percent at the end of the 1980s and 6.5 percent in 1968. Second-generation immigrants account for another 10.9 percent of France’s population, and third-generation immigrants account for 10.2 percent. Together, immigrants thus make up about a third of the population of France, and about half of first-generation immigrants are of African origin.  

The OFII director explained on April 1 that “a changeover took place in the 1980s with immigration that became more and more a migration from the south of the world, with an increasingly important proportion of North Africans and, especially in recent years, of Sub-Saharans. (…) In 1964, two-thirds of the immigrants were Europeans, today it is only one-third.”

Curiously, on April 9, the head of the French Catholic episcopate, archbishop Éric de Moulins-Beaufort, said about immigration on the KTO TV channel that “those who are delusional are the ones who try to make us believe that it can be stopped.”

His remark would appear to apply to former DGSE director Pierre Brochand, with the Catholic archbishop insisting that we must prepare to better welcome arrivals and be ready to live in a different society.

Brochand considers for his part that “If we do nothing or if we do little, we are going to head either towards a progressive implosion of social trust in France, that is to say towards a society where the quality of life will collapse and where it will be less and less pleasant to live, or, by successive explosions, towards confrontations that will make France a country where one will not be able to live at all.”

 

“And when I say all this,” Brochand added on April 1, “I think of my children, my future grandchildren, and the future that is reserved for them, especially when the tipping point will have been crossed when the population of immigrant origin and Muslim religion passes the 50 percent mark.”

In the same conversation with Leschi and Finkielkraut, the former intelligence agency head said that in France already 40 percent of children aged between 0 and 4 are of immigrant origin.

“We have reached such a point,” Brochand said, “that the reaction can only be extreme.”

The reaction, in Brochand’s eyes, can only be to divide legal immigration by 10, divide the access to nationality by 10, divide by a multiple of 10 the visas for nationals of high-risk countries, cancel everything that makes France socially attractive, and abolish all the rewards granted to cheating — like regularizing the stay of illegal immigrants or giving them access to free medical care. In addition, France must reduce the size of the diasporas by not renewing residence permits and have a very targeted natalist policy to boost the ethnic French population.

To that purpose, the most important thing to do, according to Brochand, is “to take back control of the legal instruments that are indispensable for action, that have passed into the hands of the judges, and that must be given back to the legislators by various means.”

Brochand also advocates just ignoring “the intimidating discourse that is imposed on us and in particular the accusations of racism and fascism,” which he considers to be pure moral blackmail reflecting a specific ideology.

In what may be troubling news for the French population, the former diplomat and former intelligence director does not think there is currently enough courage among the French political class to do all this, so for the time being, France seems set to continue on its very dangerous course, increasingly becoming the immigration-sick man of Europe.

Democrat presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is blasting open borders, saying it is “not anti-immigrant” to oppose illegal immigration to the United States which comes with immense economic and social burdens that overwhelmingly fall on working and middle class Americans.

Kennedy, who announced his populist presidential campaign last month, is defending Americans against the political left’s assumption that opposition to an open border equates to endorsing “anti-immigrant bigotry.”

Keeping criminal illegal aliens, such as four-time deported illegal alien Francisco Oropesa Perez-Torres, who is accused of murdering a family of five in Texas, out of American communities ought to be a priority, Kennedy wrote in the Twitter post.

President Joe Biden has ignored Oropesa’s status as a multi-deported illegal alien. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has likewise refused to comment on the suspect.

“Francisco Oropeza Perez-Torres has been arrested for the murder of 5 people including a 9-year-old boy,” Kennedy wrote. “Torres is a Mexican already deported 4 times. In addition, Kennedy wrote that Americans can be both “pro-immigration and pro-closing the border” with a focus on eliminating chaos in U.S. border towns that is currently taking hold as President Joe Biden’s administration ends Title 42, the public health authority, on May 11.

“Right now we have chaos at the border,” Kennedy wrote. “Human trafficking, criminality, intolerable stress on border states like Texas. It is a humanitarian nightmare.”

Kennedy noted that, as president, his “long-term solution to the border crisis” would be ending decades-long U.S. policies that meddle in Mexico and Central America, which he says has “create[d] desperate conditions south of the border.”

“The War on Drugs is one,” Kennedy wrote. “U.S.-funded dictators, juntas, paramilitaries, and death squads. Neoliberal extraction of resources. Unpayable debts. It is inhumane and hypocritical to deny immigration while creating the conditions that drive immigration. As President, I will change these policies.”

Since Biden took office, close to five million border crossers and illegal aliens have been welcomed to the U.S., according to estimates from Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI). This is a foreign population that exceeds the populations of 28 states.

For working and middle class Americans looking for high-wage jobs with competitive benefits, illegal immigration reduces their bargaining power.

Labor market data shows that, while Biden rapidly expands the U.S. workforce by funneling millions of border crossers, illegal aliens, foreign visa workers, and legal immigrants into jobs, millions of Americans are dropping out of the workforce.

Leaving Americans unprotected from foreign labor market competition is supported by most multinational corporations, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the nation’s wealthiest donors, and corporate special interest groups, as the policy drives up their economic power — tilting the economy in favor of employers over employees.

I think this is an interesting statement we should examine in detail. Elon has two propositions:

 

1. That immigration should be "significantly" increased.
2. The justification for this increase is that an honest, hard-working person should be welcomed.

 

These don't really seem to be closely connected, and I think a great deal lies in the distance between them.

 

Beginning with the second proposition, it is a moral injunction as to how people should be treated because of the content of their character. In this he is perfectly and rightly liberal, and almost anyone could agree with this statement. A person who works hard and is law-abiding is welcome company in almost all circumstances, even though this isn't a particularly high bar to achieve.

 

Why does this justify a significant increase of the already-high levels of legal immigration the US faces?  Since 2000, the US takes over a million legal immigrants a year on average. This is a huge number and has certainly affected many things about the country itself.

 

One thing that Western countries have endured since 2000 is an increase in social disintegration which is commonly understood to be driven in part by policies of multiculturalism and mass immigration.

 

The heterogenisation of a country through the process of mass immigration is very rarely to the benefit of the native inhabitants of that country; it produces split communities with competing loyalties which compete against one another, rather than cohesive communities which can act as a safeguard against abuses of power.

 

We have seen that mass immigration infact displaces people from communities, breaking apart their traditional communal bonds and preventing close-knit community action from being a check on overbearing executive power. This leaves the conservative elements of society at a structural disadvantage to the ideological elements, who can gather a constitutency from a fixed belief system, rather than sentimental bonds of obligation. Onces these bonds of sentiment are broken, they take a long time to reforge, but a person can be radicalised in an afternoon.

 

None of this is particularly desirable for the native inhabitants, as they now not only do they have less of a sense of belonging to their local communities, assuming they even still live in them, and are more prone to political polarisation, they also have to compete with the new communities they find themselves living alongside.

 

This puts economic pressure on the lower strata of society; if you are applying for a job, it is in the interest of the worker that fewer people are also applying for that job, so you might negotiate a higher salary and have a better chance of securing the position. An overflow of workers creates a downward pressure on the native workers, who have nowhere else to go and so must suffer a decline in opportunities, which will doubtless translate into a decline in living standards.

 

An influx of people puts great strain on services and infrastructure, as well as displacing people from their communities. Roads that were designed to support a population of X million now have to support a population of Y million, and so on. The NHS or Britain's railways are a great example of how infrastructure that was designed for 55 million people begins to disintergrate under 70 million; "the NHS is broken" is a refrain we have heard over and over for years now.

 

Moreover, immigration costs the native population a vast amount in not only increased services, but also in the bureaucracy required to service it. Millions of people coming in and out of a country is a costly endeavour, as well as policing those coming illegally. The net benefit is highly dubious at best, which is why after millions of new immigrants to Britain, we have seen little economic growth. Various studies have suggested that only immigration from other first-world countries actually produces tangible economic benefits, with migration from non-first world countries being a net deficit.

 

These practical, material arguments against immigration answer the first point, that we should "significantly increase" immigration. Why should we, exactly? There seems to be a strong material case against it, out of consideration for the people it impacts (notably not billionaires) and who are forced to shoulder the economic and social burden of mass immigration. It has made their lives worse and would have been better had it not happened.

 

However, there is a moral question that is left unasked in all this: don't the people of a country have a right to say no to the influx of strangers?

 

Just because someone works hard and is law abiding, that doesn't mean that they automatically have passed some test to become a citizen of that country.

 

Nobody has a right to be a citizen of another country, it is a privilege that is extended to them. There is a deeper, more difficult question to address at the bottom of this which we are experiencing in England at the moment: what happens when millions of foreigners come to your land and fail to integrate, instead continuing on the customs of their native land in this new place?

 

Well, and I say this as someone who grew up in part on a British colony in Germany...it takes on the aspect of colonialism. One cannot reasonably say that English culture, for example, is being replicated in London, Leicester, or Luton in these immigrant enclaves. Instead, the immigrant communities naturally become a kind of new place for immigrants from their home countries to live; we see small versions of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, etc spring up in areas of English cities that used to be identifiably English. This is what provoked @JohnCleese to remark that "London is not an English city". He's right, it's not, it is now a hodge-podge of colonies from around the world.

 

It is not as simple as saying that a person is decent that they should be allowed in, because there is a great deal more attached to being of a place than simply following the law and working a job. The problem with the false liberal conception of what it is to be a "universal man" is that there are a great number of particular cultural characteristics we inherit from the societies in which we are raised, which we replicate elsewhere if given the opportunity. These particular cultural characteristics are what give a place and people the character from which we differentiate them from other cultures and peoples.

 

Allowing the proliferation of other cultures in a new country destroys the fundamental character of the place into which we go, unless we consciously decide to shed these and incorporate into the host society into which we have moved. Given the scale of immigration as it is now, we can say that Angela Merkel was right when she said that "multiculturalism has failed" because we have not had that intergration happen.

 

Therefore, what we are looking at in England and parts of America is, in fact, the end of these countries as nations.  The national unity and common understanding of themselves as a unified people is being undermined, leading to their gradual erosure and disintegration.

 

As a father, I have to look at my children and ask themselves: "do they deserve to live in England?" Do they deserve to inherit the country I was given by my parents? I can't help but feel, deep in my heart, that the answer is "yes, of course". They deserve to have what I had, and we should preserve what we were given, and not simply give it away for a mistaken economic calculation.

 

The economic decisions around immigration were not correct, it has not led to a general blossoming of wealth, but moreover, the aesthetic and traditional considerations we took for granted have been suppressed and destroyed by such a policy.

 

If we continue like this, we will not have countries in which we can say there is a particular kind of people who live a particular kind of life that is unique to them. We will only have a series of economic zones in which atomised, undifferentiated individuals will move without care or concern because nobody will feel attached to the place in which they are born, to which they travel, or where they will eventually expire.

 

It means the end of local heroes, unique communites, and all of the diversity of human life. It will be the total homogenisation of the human race under the social contract and whatever class of people find themselves as the unchallengeable rulers of such a system, and humanity will be poorer off for it.

As many as one million migrants arrived in the UK last year, double the last recorded numbers, official figures are expected to reveal.

More than one million migrants could end up arriving in Britain this year, a report on Friday has claimed.

Experts reportedly expect that there could be over one million migrants landing in Britain this year, a report by The Telegraph has revealed.

The paper had formerly put the maximum net migration figure for 2023 at somewhere in the region of 675,000 thousand ahead of official statistics set to be released by the UK government in the coming weeks.

However, the publication has since revised the figures upwards, with another set of experts now predicting a net migration figure as high as 997,000, with gross migration numbers set to be higher than that still.

“If emigration has reverted to pre-pandemic and pre-Brexit patterns, we could see net migration hit the one million mark,” Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) researcher Karl Williams remarked, adding that while such a number would “be at the very top end” of their estimates, it was “by no means an implausible figure”.

A Syrian refugee screamed 'in the name of Jesus Christ' as he repeatedly stabbed a toddler in his pram in front of his screaming mother in a frenzied attack at a French playground that saw four children knifed.

A Syrian refugee screamed 'in the name of Jesus Christ' as he repeatedly stabbed a toddler in his pram in front of his screaming mother in a frenzied attack at a French playground that saw four children knifed.

The attacker, identified as Abdalmash H, 31, clinched onto a necklace with a crucifix on it before he launched his 'abominable' rampage in a lakeside park in the town of Annecy, a tourist hotspot in southeastern France, at around 9.45am.

Distressing video shows the attacker running into the small playground and repeatedly stabbing a toddler in his pram while his screaming mother tries to protect him from the attack.

Swedish Prime Minister: "Massive Immigration Just Doesn't Work"

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has acknowledged that “massive immigration just doesn’t work” as he announced changes to the country’s border control policy that would make it the strictest in the European Union.

Kristersson made the comments to mark the National Day of Sweden as he insisted that it was too easy for migrants who can’t even speak Swedish to obtain citizenship.

“Let me be clear: Massive immigration and poor integration just doesn’t work,” wrote Kristersson.

“That is why we are now changing Sweden’s migration policy and making it the strictest in the EU.”

The leader of the center-right Moderate Party said new measures would be introduced to ensure migrants had not committed crimes in their home countries and also tests to ensure they respect Swedish culture and heritage.

“A ‘no’ to asylum means ‘no’ and you have to leave the country. That should be obvious, but it’s not,” said the PM.

“Equally important, a ‘yes’ should mean that you really get involved in Swedish society.”

Kristersson said citizenship was not just about obtaining a passport and should be a “social contract and that social contract contains both rights and obligations.”

He added that up until now “there has been absolutely no expectation that anyone who comes to Sweden will really learn our language,” which is the “glue that binds us together.”

there is a video of the attack out there so i'd lean towards it being a real attack but that a spin has been put on it that the guy is 'christian'...

I agree they are trying to demonise Christianity with this event by the sound of it. And Syrians, refugees, knife owners, etc. and to sew division.

 

I don't normally watch the news but saw this story and they showed the video of attack but blurred out. Even then it looked fake from the body language and actions of onlookers/victims. One man wears a huge bulky rucksack whilst trying to fend off the attacker by hitting him with a tiny rucksack. Anotyher man is stood on top of slide idly watching then slides down but doesn't really intervene. And the woman doesn't take the child out of pram and flee on foot which also makes no sense.

Illegal Immigration Costs Hospitals Billions In Unpaid Bills, House GOP Report Finds

Illegal immigration is costing American hospitals billions of dollars in unpaid medical bills, a new report from Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee found. 

The report, which asserts that Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas should be investigated over his handling of the border crisis, lists the projected costs to the healthcare systems of several states.  

 

 

“Hospital and emergency room care for illegal aliens is one of the most significant expenses,” the report says, adding that “this has led to significant costs for hospitals because providers are often not reimbursed for these services.”

“Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wrote that his state alone was required to pay anywhere between $62- 90 million per year to cover illegal aliens under its Emergency Medicaid program,” according to the report. “Between 2006-2008, uncompensated costs borne by Texas state hospitals providing care to illegal immigrants ranged from $597 million to $717 million. That’s as much as $1.03 billion in May 2023 dollars.”

“Data released by the state of Florida … showed that illegal aliens cost hospitals about $312 million in FY21, with hospitals only receiving about $103 million in reimbursements,” the report continued. Meanwhile, a hospital in Yuma, Arizona, provided $26 million in uncompensated care to illegal immigrants. 

The report cites a recent Politico article about a program in Illinois, which states:

A state program that offers health benefits to undocumented adults is ballooning. When it was started a few years ago, lawmakers estimated it to run from $2 million to $4 million. Now health officials say the state needs more than $1.1 billion to keep it running because the number of participants far exceeds what the state had planned on. 

The committee’s report comes as Chicago and New York City struggle to pay for and procure housing for thousands of foreign nationals who’ve crossed our border. The Chicago City Council recently passed a controversial $51 million funding measure to provide foreign nationals with housing and food.
