I suggest it is because of Truth Social, a right wing free speech platform and Trump's answer to Twitter, currently available in the States, but plans for worldwide asap. Already a big hit with users, it's likely it could bury Twitter if Musk failed to make the necessary changes. (Once again Musk showed his true colours by endorsing Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker). Last time I checked, TS was just a Neocon and Israel circle jerk, not a place for dissident voices. Maybe TS is less of a limited hangout spot these days, I don't know. But all of us (at least here, I hope) know the free speech is the possibility to choose between two or three standard speeches. They tell people that's freedom and they obey. But if you realize a new speech, or the truth, you'll be banned. They won't tell you they banned you because you told the truth, but by racism, intolerance, antisemitism, being homophobic, denier, micro-machist, class B terrorist, micro-terrorist, toxic male, not safe for public health, anarchist, pervert, anti-feminist... add whatever you want to the list.
