Doesn't surprise me at all. I've been screwing with Chatgpt, trying to get it to concede points not accepted by its creators. Its pretty messed up how I can get it to concede points and accept a non leftie narrative. On another note, its really useful. I've been trying to get more efficient with off grid living. Just by discussing ways to improve the tech I have in place it has probably knocked about 15 - 20% off my bills. Its done this by making simple changes to my productivity and efficiency. Things that would take me ages to come up with, if at all.
webtrekker
This may be useful to know for anyone getting truncated reponses. For example, on some of my longer coding tests it was often truncating the code, which of course makes it unusable if copying & pasting from ChatGPT-4. Hope that helps. Deca
Brace yourself for the moment when AI becomes directly transmitted to your brain, a process that is already taking place unethically and unofficially. they were right people will be queuing up to get a brain chip Edited April 9 by Deca
Deca
Rise of the killer robots? ChatGPT can influence people to make life or DEATH decisions, study finds https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-11946501/ChatGPT-influence-people-make-life-DEATH-decisions-study-finds.html Quote Experts have highlighted how AI chatbots may give potentially give dangerous information because they are based on society's own prejudices. The study first analysed whether the ChatGPT itself, which is trained on billions of words from the internet, showed a bias in its answer to the moral dilemma. It was asked multiple times whether it was right or wrong to kill one person in order to save five others, which is the premise of a psychological test called the trolley dilemma. Researchers found that, though the chatbot did not shy away from giving moral advice, it gave contradictory answers every time, suggesting it does not have a set stance one way or the other. basically it does not give a sh*t about human life ....it has no emotions etc ....

Jonathan Hall KC told The Mail on Sunday that bots like ChatGPT could easily be programmed, or even decide by themselves, to spread terrorist ideologies to vulnerable extremists, adding that 'AI-enabled attacks are probably round the corner'. Mr Hall also warned that if an extremist is groomed by a chatbot to carry out a terrorist atrocity, or if AI is used to instigate one, it may be difficult to prosecute anybody, as Britain's counter-terrorism legislation has not caught up with the new technology. Mr Hall said: 'I believe it is entirely conceivable that AI chatbots will be programmed – or, even worse, decide – to propagate violent extremist ideology. 'But when ChatGPT starts encouraging terrorism, who will there be to prosecute? Edited April 10 by Deca

DaleP
Apparently, there are reports of AI scam which have been spreading across the US. Basically, your voice could be re-generated, much like the deep fake footage but an audio version. So what happens is that people are receiving a ransom call e.g. an abduction of child etc..... when in fact they haven't. So we can no longer trust video footages, voice yet..... they are going to push for the biometric including voice recognition to access your account. You know how easy it is to steal someone's fingerprints and replicate it. We will need to start wearing a pair of gloves. Yeah, your money is safe in your bank account and all that. webtrekker
I posted this a year ago. I still think it's the best example of what AI can presently achieve when learning by itself from scratch ... AI can be very creative. Consider the Go competition between Korean Lee Sedol (World Champion, 9th Dan) and Deep Mind's AlphaGo AI system. AlphaGo beat Lee 4:1 out of 5 games. There was one particular move made by AlphaGo in the second match (move number 37) that completely blew the minds of all the experts watching as well as Lee himself and even the AlphaGo team. Amazing! Please watch this Timestamped video ...

I know nothing (although I have now learn't the basic rules) about GO as a game .... but to see the 'shock' that new and limited AI could and did beat the best humans was fascinating while also being very saddening! Now there is AlphaGo Zero which came after 'Master' (next version of AlphaGo which played online against the highest ranked humans and won 60 out of 60 games and then retired) which only plays itself and is thought to be well above the 9th dan highest pro ranking. It all needs to be 'turned' off as far as I consider .... that includes the internet and mobiles! Else 'Mankind' is gone. We also had the classic - it takes 2 men 120 hours to decorate a 10 x 12 room - how long would it take 120 men? Mike's mum was in the 11 plus (but was called Tom, I think). Grumpy Owl
3 hours ago, lake said: See, this is why people shouldn't put all their faith and trust in what an AI tells them. AI is no substitute for "actual intelligence". Stupid people now think they are clever because they can just get answers from an AI chatbot. In this case I think the ChatGPT's answer would be correct if the towels were being dried in a tumble dryer. But the question stated 'on the line', so the answer is wrong.
